    The NHL, NBA, NFL by collective bargaining all set the salary cap by revenue, not value of the teams. In articles about salaries Tony Clark talks about the percentage spent on salaries based on revenue. Perhaps you would be so kind as to find a business that bases what they spend on the worker's payroll as a percentage of the value of the business. There are businesses that pay management on the basis of their stock. There have been a quote or two in the past about

    The comment I responded to was about the lit and that he should have been more specific to the minor league signing that started in AAA. That list does not change appreciably with the subtractions I listed, hence no big deal. Sorry I have to more wordy to let you understand the meaning of the post. Last year the Red Sox used 4 players who were signed as minor league contracts. That the Twins used 5 is no big deal. Teams do use players signed to a minor league contract.

    You can depreciate the players on the team when you bought it. There is no write off after that. Writing of interest payments saves tax money but does not pay for the interest. That is not good business.

    This is Falvey and Levine's second full off season in command of the organization. It is pretty hard to hold them accountable for what happened before they took over. Did Mauer come in shape for 2018? Did Sano? Mauer retired after the season, Sano did not. That would be a difficult supposition t off from two off seasons that they are treated differently Do all players have the capability to be monitored? Did Sano want his off season progress monitored? Nobody has written a story that Sano is angry about it or did not want to do it. He doesn't have to pay a trainer, more money for him. The assumption without proof is that Sano was forced to do it.

    You do not know what happened in the off season of 2011. Whatever happened led to a SYMPTOM of bilateral leg weakness. Pretty hard to train if you are sick. You have said he looked bad on arrival to camp. Know of healthy people who look that way?

    Was there any difference in how Sano was treated prior to this year and this year? If your answer is yes then the results of the last couple of years would compared to the first year of Sano's career might give people pause to think something different needs to be done.

    Assumption one was equating Martins knee to Mauer's knee. The second assumption you make is anything to do with Mauer in 2011 was a lack of conditioning. There are plenty of medical reasons. The Twins, or Mauer released the symptom of bilateral leg weakness, not the cause of bilateral weakness. You can try to denigrate the health care system, but you thus far have shown only how little you know.

    Signing an aged veteran to their last contract was something Ryan did in the 90's. He learned.

    Pomeranze had a great 2017, a good 2016. Injuries seem to derail him. Guessing which of Buchholz or Pmeranz would hold up for a season is a poor bet. As minimal wage fliers that would be fine. Counting on them for a season would not be a building sort of move.

    The Astro's have Gurriel locked up for a few years and WHite who is pre Arb as 1b/dh types. Cruz was better than White but now might only be a small upgrade. I would not think the Astro's interest is all that heavy.

    Couldn't get Segura and Santana from Seattle as they were traded for each other. Segura was not traded away for nothing. Santana brought back Encarnation, not exactly nothing. Nor is the draft pick not exactly nothing. Navaez is a defensive catcher that can hit a little bit. That is not nothing for Colombe.

    It is the players fault that he has migraines and can immediately not have them? As it has been a few years that he has had these it is more than reasonable to think that people have worked to control them.

    Players traded for as prospects, versus players traded for as established players is also a missing element When dissing on Twins trades there are 2 things people seem to forget. 1, there have been different people in the FO. 2. Bill Smith was not a good trader. Had ne made a prospects for talent trade the team would be worse off now.

Igleseas is a Borass client. Igleseas will be over valued by his representation. A deal similar to Kinslers should have been done by now. I would think it is more likely that Boras want a raise for his client and a 3-5 year deal,

    Offense is measured without subjective data. A few less HR and doubles per at bat, more K% You did not explain the difference in Buxton's defense. You can't.

    Roughly consistent back of rotation starter money. After a season of Colon, Gallardo and Minor Lynn looks a lot better.

    That is relying on defensive metrics. No one can argue that he is a fine defensive player. Measuring it is a whole different issue. Can you explain why in 331 PA the year before his defensive rating was far worse. Same player

    He has excellent defense. I fail to see how his hitting was excellent. 90 out if a47 in wrc+ is abysmal. his .312 woba is near the bottom.

    Kemp, Crawford, Gonzales, Beckett are all reasons Friedman got the job in LA. The costs of those contracts costs a lot of money. They never gave away much talent to get them, nor to get rid of them. So if Harper becomes a Dodger, Kemp's contract is irrelevant. The dismal merits of Kemp need not be discussed.
