  1. ... and having a cannon for an arm.
  2. ... and Arcia, don't forget Arcia.
  3. Not the first time this franchise suffered from a lapse in logic and foresight, and it won't be the last one, either.
  4. All you are saying is true, but the braintrust that offers the current contract must also be included in the "locals", then, right?
  5. Halsey's gonna love this split: Plouffe v. Kluber: 9 hits in 25 ABs. .360/.360/.640/(1.000) w/ 2 HRs
  6. "Banishing?" This is a one-day deal, and already the locals are complaining on social media about him missing a home game.
  7. Because he's been officially dubbed by the manager as the Twins' Tony Phillips?
  8. Curiously, I give Peterson all the more credit- to blow the game in the most inexplicable way conceivable- and still having the presence of mind to doing what he does best, striking out that same batter.
  9. Actually according to the box score, Pinto reached base five times, with two singles and THREE walks, not two. And you're right, he's got to be thinking the call has to be coming soon, there's not much more he can do to get himself promoted.
  10. I agree on Pinto***, on Hermann v Nunez there is little net gain from one on the roster over the other. (FWIW, I watched Pinto playing on Rochester last year, he, along with May and Meyer looked like the only sure "major league material" on the entire roster (Ortiz was a close 4th). Curiously, both at the plate and behind it, he looked as out of place in Rochester as he does in Minnesota, only in the diametrically opposite sense, and fully justified, "too good for this league sense" of extreme confidence and swagger. And we all know how un-confident he looks in Minnesota, a little when he slumped, but especially behind the plate- clearly Pinto is caught between the proverbial Rock and Hard Place.)
  11. Very insightful report. Bravo to finding some positivity within the organization.
  12. "Better pitcher"? Webb would have been the Twins RHP bullpen ace- and playing for the minimum.
  13. Exception that proves the rule (I like that he's using the whole OF now, but the .292 SLG from the #3 hitter is still problematic). And he has had multiple gaffes defensively, even though he plays the easiest position.
  14. Hey.... I resemble that remark. My prediction of 15 out of 1st place by May 15 seems like a solid bet at this point. * *If only I had put my money where my mouth was... stupid me. (Admittedly, my interest in seeing this scenario come about was partially wishful thinking in the hopes that such a horrendous start would finally force the franchise and its ownership to bite the bullet and effect the changes that this franchise so desperately needs to undertake- but man, that last week of ST,and all that went down was very foreboding, indeed).
  15. Who on this squad hasn't been awful so far? Did you happen to notice who hit the "occasional home run" yesterday and has 50% of this year's home run output? Did you happen to notice Escobar's first foray at 3rd on Sunday?- two (very) inadequate, inexplicable plays
  16. Lots of good slump-busting stats breaking out all over. But the best one is ZERO, as in zero errors for four teams *** *** (Pinto was charged with an error, but it was of the Catchers Interference variety)
  17. Precisely, where's Jim Crikket when we need him most? If Jorge can return to Top 20 prospect form, it shakes up the whole potential SP call-up timetable. 2015 May/Meyer 2016 Berrios/Stewart 2017 Thorpe/Gonsalves/Hu/Slegers/Jorge That could be FIVE guys in one year that might be ready to start for the Twins and SIX if they hold Stewart back? 2018 Romero
  18. Jorge certainly put himself tonight back in the conversation as a potential top prospect for Cedar Rapids, and Eades wasn't shabby, either. Anyone in Cedar Rapids notice if Jorge has his velocity back? 10 K in 7 IP w/ 0 ER- very impressive considering the huge step back he took in 2014.
  19. The Cedar Rapids Zach(k) attack. Which Zach(k) is the better prospect/Which one is called up to Ft Myers first?
  20. Hmm.... I believe you've just coined a phrase that will see a lot of usage as the season progresses.
  21. Embarrassing, Yes. Surprising, No. This is bad enough that it makes me think that my prediction of being 15 games out of 1st place by May 15 wasn't realistic enough.
  22. Thanks B-Sac. This specific info is very helpful. Sounds like a "wile and guile" guy, with maybe a little better stuff and high pitchability ceiling. One to follow this year to see how he shakes out and rises to the challenge of all of these high-performance arms around him in A+ and AA.
