  1. ahhhh got it. Yeah I was never very high on him personally.
  2. Thorpe is nowhere near the prospect Alvarez is, there is a reason why the Dodgers sunk 35 mil into alvarez FWIW
  3. I realize that, but Dozier is also good defensively IMO
  4. I THINK (can't confirm) the Twins wanted Lux or Smith but the dodgers didn't want to give them up. Take that for what you will. I never did get specific confirmation on exactly WHO were third players offered.
  5. Yeah. I give it an D- so far. Castro is meh, and was signed for too many years. And nothing else happened to improve the team in 2017...2018...2019....2020 I guess there is still time to make a splash, just color me skeptical. At least they didn't go out and sign another DH type lol!
  6. still somewhat relevant. dozier is a significantly better player overall in all aspects.
  7. Ironically 20 min later when I refreshed on mobile it popped up and tried to get me to download some yelp app knock off.
  8. Yeah I think ultimately the Twins overplayed their hand. All is not lost...yet as he will still have great value at the deadline and maybe even next offseason, but that assumes he stays healthy and continues to mash. Like I said if I was GM I would have taken the deal, two in the hand etc etc
  9. We learned our lesson with the Young for Garza+Bartlett trade!
  10. In re to the "give them the benefit of the doubt" crowd. This is the same ownership that let the Twins dance around in mediocrity for 20+ years before finally making a half measure change (fire Ryan but keep around Molitor and half the front office) Sorry, but this offseason gets a big fat F from me so far. They improved their major league team by maybe a half win in the Castro signing, and haven't improved the future at all.
  11. Because the Twins are the worst team in baseball the last 5 years. Because they have by far the worst pitching staff in baseball and one of the worst 5 or 6 SP "pipelines" in baseball. They completely bungled the Dozier trade IMO, and have failed to address anything this off season whatsoever. Castro is barely an improvement over Suzuki. Not sure how that gets us to 70 wins, much less competitive baseball.
  12. That's a good point, I'm hoping that ownership and mods here change their stance on what posters can post and what "bloggers" can post so that they can both be equal when it comes to negative vs positive.
  13. Glad to see you guys take malware on your site seriously.
  14. My source is credible, at least in my opinion. You can disagree but I take exception with you not calling me credible. Show more respect please.
  15. Lol! Grayson Allen! Man, that guy is the worst.
  16. Polanco at SS with a pitching staff that couldn't strike out a AAAA hitter an inning is a complete disaster waiting to happen IMO.
  17. That's a good point. Also obama definitely goes down as an amazing president, especially after being sandwiched between two puppet presidents.
  18. Jackie Brown Lord of the Rings (two towers) Star Wars episode 7
  19. Yup Alvarez (who was offered) and one more top prospect. Dodgers didn't want to give up a 3rd top prospect.
  20. Dozier was also hurt 2nd half of 2015, when viewing Dozier you should view 2014/2015/2016 and realize he is just now entering his prime to get a good sample size. Good news is that if he continues to progress we can get a monster deal at deadljne
  21. fair enough, though I don't blame you for thinking that. If I was in charge I would pull the trigger on it!!
  22. I'm 100% confident that wasn't the case. Dozier >>> Forsythe and everyone knows that, Twins wouldn't have picked up the phone again if it was just JDL for Dozier, there is a reason why they included Alvarez, Dozier is in his prime, 45+ hr power and a 5-6 WAR 2B
  23. Yeah, I fear this team will be "rebuilding" well into 2019 at this rate, no matter how much they try to spin it. You have an org in bad shape and an owner who is cheap and doesn't care, not a good combo.
  24. It was offered along with one of the non Lux guys drafted last year. Twins thought they had more leverage then they had and got BURNED, not a good start. 95 losses but hey, at least Dozier will hit 50 HR! Maybe they can flip him at deadline
