The fact that he has managerial experience is a plus, he improved the team he managed as well, so I don't see why/how he was so terrible Besides, he's not becoming a manager in this org currently anyways. To be honest, bashing this move just seems so petty/or jealous.

We will agree to disagree on your first paragraph, but you did tweet at me. Maybe it wasn't you on this forum...but it was someone from the site. If it wasn't you I apologize. Moving on we will see ultimately who was right when someone goes on the record or when the trade (likely) goes through.

Seems weird though since I personally reached out to you and gave you info on my source (to prove it legit) Dustin was one of the guys over here trying to call me out on TwinsDaily, and then bashing me on twitter (I had to block him) Dustin works for a LAD blog and not a national reporter or real media member, so why is his word so much more believable then mine Nick?

Alvarez and JDL were certainly on the table, the Twins wanted and remain to Want more. If it was a JDL for Dozier swap the deal would have been rejected immediately (like months ago) So much spin coming out from both camps. The trade will happen.

If the Twins decide to keep dozier bc they think they contend, they are delusional IMO. This pitching is terrible, it can't hold up to win 88+ games

Wolfson and Rosenthal 98% are reporting directly from the Twins brass IMO, classic spin to try to leverage things a bit. Deal is still likely to happen, Twins are the ones not meeting in middle for third piece according to source. Fwiw I reported the "impasse" about 10 min before Rosenthal on twitter I believe

I think it's a little silly to say he can't be a hitting coach because he wasn't a great "pro" hitter. Plenty of successful coaches in every sport weren't elite, or even average players in their playing careers. I normally would complain about nepotism etc but Toby isn't some retread coach, he's a young/new coach who deserves a shot. It's not like he is even taking some HUGE position anyways, so their really is no downside at all. I'm much more concerned about guys like Hunter getting front office positions...just because he was a Twin. Toby though? This isn't some PR stunt, they think he has the skillset to become an asset. Best of luck to him!

Notice how I said position player. I respectfully disagree with Turner and Grandal. Dozier doubled up Grandal each of the last 3 years in WAR I believe.

I keep hearing how Dozier is going to regress, even though he is hitting his prime baseball years. I mean I guess guys like Pederson can progress, that's certainly possible, but I'd be willing to wager a healthy amount of money that Dozier produces a higher WAR then ANYONE (position players) on the Dodgers not named Seager.

Also Turner has been declining and is a couple years older than Dozier.

Actually he is, he has posted a better OWar then him 2 of the past 3 years, many more home runs, and yes durability does count for a lot as well. In fact Turner has been on a steady decline the last two seasons, and is going to be 32, while Dozier is going to be 29 opening day. Dozier is still in his peak, Turner is entering his decline phase (and actually is already in it IMO)

Name one player who had a higher WAR then Dozier on the Dodgers, name one player not named Seager who had a higher OPS+

Also day one of joining the Dodgers Dozier becomes one of the Dodgers best two overall position players. Seager and Him.

Yeah like I said in 2014 he was a 4.7 WAr player, he was well on his way to that in 2015 before the injury issues derailed his 2nd half. Dozier is hitting his peak age for power as well, his ISO has gone up every year. There is no reason why he can't be a 6 War player moving forward. IMo if healthy he will be atleast a 4.8-5.2 War per year player next 2 seasons. People also never bring up his speed either. 20 SB is nothing to sneeze at.
