  1. OUCH Nvidia took a beating today. Short term it I could see it dipping down to mid 90's, but mid to longterm I still think it's a strong investment. I bought another chunk of shares on it's way down today at $101
  2. Agreed on that front, I would be much more comfortable trading Dozier now then later, but I also think that Dozier actually IMPROVES on his numbers from last year.
  3. Bitcoin over $1150. Bold prediction: It will hit $1400 by end of march.
  4. Always Sunny has been on absolute FIRE this year thus far. Fargo is back April 19th, can't wait! Workoholics has been funny as hell this season as well. Watched the Legion pilot, pretty awesome television. If any of you guys dabble in the "reefer" it's a good show for that.
  5. This is very true. I just doubt Theo wants to give up what it will take at this point, the Twins have a pretty high asking price for Dozier "allegedly"
  6. Daytona week baby! The duels are tonight, should be entertaining. For the 500 itself, it's hard to handicap, but I think Keselowski is by far the car to beat, as long as he can eliminate stupid pit road issues he should be able to stay in the top 10 and out of the muck most of the day to give him a great shot at the win. He by far was the best car last weekend. Any thoughts on the new "heat" style points system? I really like it personally, it makes the middle of the race that much more entertaining as guys will be doing all they can for positions before the segment breaks. The "purists" of course are bitching about it, but glad to see NASCAR evolving...unlike Baseball...
  7. I'd much prefer the 76 in that scenario, at least it means the Twins improved by a lot of wins.
  8. Yeah, I mean it isn't earth shattering news or anything I think it's pretty much a done deal that Dozier is a Twin until June at least.
  9. Santana has NO Business being on this 25 man roster, it's insane that he's even an option to be a starting SS for the Twins this year. Over the last few years Santana has literally been one of the very worst hitters in all of baseball, and his defense is not good to boot!
  10. FWIW: pinged my infamous source, they said "Can't see the Cubs being a fit, Cubs are absolutely stacked for next several years and have no need to move any long term assets"
  11. I managed to find one book that had the Twins at 69.5 put $1000 on the over also found one that had the Twins at 75.5 put $1000 on the under. If the Twins win between 70 and 75 games it will be an easy $2000 win (off a potential $100 loss) 20:1 effective odds that the Twins end up between 70 and 75 wins seemed pretty good to me.
  12. Rose for Rubio? Puke
  13. I'd offer a 2nd for Joe Thomas and a 4th.
  14. You can buy normal beer at liquor stores, but the hours are bad, and it's served warm. I think bars can serve it cold though
  15. Boudreau should get it, but I'm sure Tortz will get it because the NHL voting body is the dumbest of all sports. Just like how Price will beat out Duby.
  16. Again for the most part the community got along and didn't take any of it to seriously. But yes, there were some morons that got run off eventually, most stuck around and grew thick skin though. Even itstimetotakeit was in til the end more or less!
  17. Self driving cars will "solve" the alcohol drunk driving issue soon enough, in the meantime, ride sharing services like Uber and Lyft have done GREAT things in terms of curbing drunk driving violations and more importantly injuries and deaths. Uber takes a lot of heat (justifiably), but I think the impact that they have had on lowering drunk driving can't be stated enough. I do think cities could do a bit more though, like suspending "no parking zones" from 2am to 8am, you shouldn't punish citizens by towing or ticketing their cars when they are making the RIGHT choice by leaving their car and taking home an uber or the like instead. As far as Sunday Booze ban, nice to see Minnesota joining the 21st century, NYC which has lax Booze laws still has a stupid one for Sundays as well, as I think think they can sell between 6am and 11am or something. Not a major deal and most bodegdas don't even care, but pretty annoying if you are at an airport and want a bloody mary before a flight, or if you are trying to pick up a 12 pack on the way to the stadium. Oklahoma still has 3.2 beer, which is so freaking pointless and counter productive... I also remember being in DC for the Redskins vs Vikings game a few years ago, it was a 4pm start, but I remember each of the 3 states that border each other had different booze laws, I had to goto 2 different states in order to find a place open to sell some beer to take to a tailgate, again, just stupid and pointless.
  18. Yeah, I definitely think IMO that "smaller communties" are better, at least when talking about sports and our beloved Twins. That was my favorite part about BYTO, it was a good number of active posters (and guys who would show up once in a blue moon) but you knew who they were, remembered their posting style/hot takes/bits etc and while it was much more "wild west" everyone more or less got along. Even with the long drawn out battles between Lev and Pseudo, you knew they each enjoyed the banter. For the most part, nobody at BYTO took themselves too seriously, it was sort of like a bunch of buddies from college getting together years later to get drunk and watch baseball at a bar, insults were handed out like candy, but they always came from a place of love. The people that did take themselves too seriously: Stat, Itstime, Rob come to mind, ended up being a nice comic relief for the rest of us. I think that was the beauty of BYTO, nobody with the exception of Nick (who was doing his own thing anyways) was trying to be some baseball blogger, writer, or anything of note, it was just a bunch of dudes and a couple ladies who shot the **** about the Twins 365 days a year, and to your point, yeah it never had the "negative" feel to it. Luis Rivas the knife wielding maniac and Nachos Bell Grande Silva came more from a place of love then malice. Of course none of those bits would be allowed at TD because it's much more buttoned up. Additionally TD has a ton of people who are using it to try to be the next big blogger/writer etc, and while I commend people for that, I do think it takes away a lot of the more "fun" aspects of a forum as people tend to take things a little more seriously then they should. I mean, it's only baseball at the end of the day, but as mentioned it is good that a community does exist where new bloggers can perfect their craft, so to speak. I definitely see the value of TD, the larger community and the more blogs, and I continue to obviously view/participate, just personally I wish the smaller community was still around, where you knew everyone's "posting backstory" a bit, knew their bits and had long season running memes with word filters and what not. Where you could call someone an idiot (just like you would to your buddy in the bar when he said something stupid) and it wouldn't turn into an international crisis. Basically this is the same reason why I don't use twitter, and curate FB to only see posts from like 20 people, I could really give two ****s less about what random people are talking about, that's sort of my experience here, there are 15-20 posters that I enjoy bantering with, and the rest I could really not care either way about. This is why I particularly enjoy the Wild Thread and Sports Bar Board as a whole, since it's a smaller group of folks. To go back to your point about negativity, I think a little has to do with the fact that during BYTO the Twins were a really fun, competitive and scrappy (trademarked) team. The last 5 years his org has been a complete dumpster fire, so I get the negativity, though I do wish we could create some fun bits around specific players without people thinking it's some sort of personal attack.
  19. I think they could make the argument as followed: 1. "we talked to LV, we know they are gonna take one of the D men" 2. By you waiving your NTC, we keep the team even stronger, thus giving us a better chance at a cup title. Again, if you have a choice between Scandella, one of Dumba/Brodin, Haula and Pominville, you would be insane to take Pominville from that group. He's not a bad player, but he doesn't have near the upside of the other 3.
  20. Jagr would be awesome, but Panthers look like buyers now.
  21. If it's a 3rd or later...ok. But the Wild really need to keep their 1st and 2nd round picks moving fwd for a bit. Otherwise things could we ugly in the system in a few years.
  22. There will be plenty of over priced "goal scorers" avail to LV during the draft. Young, good defenseman will be very few and far between. I think at the very least 2 of Scandella, Brodin and Dumba will almost certainly have to be exposed, LV would be insane to take Pominville over any one of those three IMO.
  23. Also I doubt pominville would want to leave Minnesota for Vegas anyways. The "trading him to Vegas" part I don't see happening. I actually still think Pom can be a solid contributor for this team for the next couple years anyways, he will be streaky and overpaid, but still an asset IMO. It's not Heatley like.
  24. No I'm talking about having Pominville "waive" his clause for the draft, so basically the wild DONT have to protect him. Once that happens it's pretty much a 99.99999% chance that LV takes someone other than pominville anyways. While allowing us to use pominvilles auto protected spot on a guy like Nino Haula etc instead. Does that make sense? LV wouldn't get Pom, the Wild would just be able to protect an extra fwd
