    Pelfrey has looked solid thus far, keep riding him while he is hot. Also, I don't get why people are so incensed that he was upset about going to the pen (after out preforming Milone in the spring) frankly I like to see a few guys on this team with a little fire at this point..

    MLB needs to rethink their stance on some of these PEDs, if all it is doing is helping him recover from an injury, I don't see the moral dilemma. This isn't roids where he is suddenly throwing 4 MPH harder etc

    To imply the twins should have "known" about this is pretty silly. It's not like he suddenly gained 3 MPh on his fastball or put on 20 pounds of muscle. Anything less then literally going through his garbage (though that probably wouldn't even matter) isn't going to give them any info on his using this PED.

    The CF situation is absolutely maddening, they are going with two guys that have next to zero major league future. Hicks has been a disappointment, but good lord, at least he has some upside. Hunter serves no purpose on this roster whatsoever, he is just taking much needed at bats away from players who can help in the future. Ditto with the bullpen decisions, I just don't get it, especially for a team coming off of a horrendous last 3 years, why you decide to stack the team with mediocrity throughout is beyond me. There is only one reason why Meyer or May shouldn't be up by May, and that is if somehow both Milone and Nolasco are pitching very well.

    Putting any stock into spring training is a mistake, Hermann, while I am sure is a nice guy, really has no business being on a 25 man major league roster on opening day, he is a decent org depth guy, but come on....he doesn't hit, he doesn't field well, he doesn't have speed. Pinto even with the injury should have been given the spot, no better way to bring him up to speed then having him face some major league pitching.

    My views: Catcher: League average hopefully. Pinto needs to be up ASAP. INF: Could be above league average. No real qualms. OF: Possibly the worst in baseball on opening day. Arcia is the only one who looks to be a league average player, the rest are pretty bad. SP: Solid, but its very unfortunate they aren't giving May or Meyer a spot in the rotation, Milone isn't bad, but he is a low upside guy, on this team it's just wasting starts by tossing him or Pelfrey out there. RP: Hot garbage, again, why fill it with proven mediocrity when you can give some youngsters with upside some innings? Overall I think it's clear that the Twins continue to have no idea what the heck they are doing. Very uninspiring, the only chance we have at an interesting year is if Sano, Buxton, Meyer, May, Rosario etc all get called up sooner then later and give us a reason to actually SEE the future at play, instead of watching over the hill Hunter and whatever that CF situation is take at bats day in and day out and having Milone throw every 5 days.

    Unless you think the team is gonna be winning 85+ games, you likely are better off just buying on stubhub for below face value, however weekend games typically have higher demand, so if I lived within the twins cities this may be the one package i would look at getting (probably splitting as I wouldn't want every weekend tied up watching baseball)

    The benefit of paying him in advance for his age 33 year is you don't have to give him a muti year deal after his age 32 year deal(I assume that's when he hits FA)? Taking a little risk in his 33 and 34 year is better than having to shell out a 4 or so year deal at FA for more money covering his 35/36/37 etx years as well. Dozier plays a premium position and at worst will still be above average at said premium position, he also has the op to be good at said position (a notch or so below all star level) those are the players you lock up IMHO.

    Coming into the offseason this was my personal top choice on what to do. Very very team friendly. We could be looking back in a few years as it being an absolute steal.

    Also keep in mind: That if Nolasco reverts back to his career average he suddenly becomes a pretty easy piece to trade should the time come (even if the Twins have to eat a few million)

    Great move, nothing to dislike about it at all to be honest. I would rather have Santana at 54 million then Lester at 160 million, while Lester has more upside I don't think it is 100+ mil worth. I would certainly rather have Santana+Hughes+Nolasco (sigh) at 110 million then Lester at 160 million.

    I'm not sure I really buy into this "you must have a lefty in the rotation at all costs" thought that has been prevalent in baseball for seemingly forever. Yes, having a dominating front of the rotation LHP is the gold standard in baseball commodity's, but if we are talking about a #5/AAAA back of the rotation type, I don't see a real advantage in keeping the LHP over the RHP. I'm not saying Gilmartin is automatically a AAAA type, just at this point I don't think the fact that he is a LHP should save him.

    Excited is the wrong word, but just because he doesn't "stick" in the majors for a full season may or may not have much to do with his current or future potential.

    Agreed, Duensing is nothing particularly special, but he has been proven to be at least averagely effective in a major league bullpen which does have value.

    Freeing up the roster spot (and to a lesser extent the money) was a win it of itself. It allowed the Twins to give at bats to guys like Cola, Vargas, Pinto, etc to evaluate them for future needs/spots.

    I'm not sure why all of my prior posts are being deleted for pointing out that this is nothing new from the Pohlad family. Anyways, fans aren't shareholders, the Twins will continue to make millions upon millions from the TV deal alone, yes attendance and all that helps, but the real money just like the other leagues comes from the massive TV deals. At least it isn't a Marlins situation (previous to this year at least). It still IMHO is very possible to compete with a 90-100 mil payroll in this day of age. While I blame the Pohlads for being cheap, the Twins shouldn't use this as an excuse for their pathetic results the past 3 or 4 years.

    Say what you want about Diamond, but the Twins did get 2.4 WAR out of him a couple years ago. That alone makes him a really nice "snag" in the rule 5/later trade. I like the Graham pick up, its the definition of a no risk/high reward type play. Even if he doesn't fully recover his prospect status/100 MPH fastball he still could slot into the bullpen. The Twins aren't going to be real competitive anyways, and stashing a guy in the bullpen isn't a hard thing to do even if you are competitive. I look forward to watching him pitch (much more so then Swarzak and the other "long" guys of years past)

    Doubftul. Gilmartin was pretty far down on the list of potential arms the Twins would need to call upon and didn't have at on of upside anyways.

    Ultimately I hope that hunter can motivate/mentor hicks just like he did to span. If he can turn Hicks into a MLB starter then he earns triple his 10 mil salary this year imo
