  1. Also keep in mind he is coming from a dumpster fire of a team. Putting him on a line with Parise and Pominville could pay some serious dividends for his production. We could be looking at a team with 3 lines that could match up with any teams #1 line.
  2. Hanzal would be a top 6 fwd on most teams in the NHL. He is certainly much more than a "depth" guy. He scores goals, plays well both ways and is top 6 in the league in faceoff% The Wild have a ton of prospects who should arrive in the next few years, id much rather give up the picks than one or two of Elk, Tuch, Haula etc They also got white, who isn't super sexy, but is a nice guy to have on the team, clear upgrade over Gabriel, and a good platoon type guy with Schroeder.
  3. Steep price, but a good trade overall. The Wild are the top team in the west, I will never fault them for going for it. Hanzel is a very solid center, one of the best face off guys in the league, also theygot a solid depth fwd guy as well with the second piece. I'm glad they didn't have to give up any of their prospects, or bring on a guy with a steep contract. Losing the first rounder sucks, but it is what it is. After the last couple Chicago games I think it was clear they needed some center depth. Hanzel will be a great fit. Also they could always move Haula to a wing now as well.
  4. Yes, 10-8 games are quite fun to watch
  5. I wouldn't read too much into the beer/losing weight thing. Beer (especially non light beer) is the definition of empty carbs. I switched to light beer (and non beer drinks) about 9 months ago and lost almost 10 pounds in a couple months (albeit I did eat better as well, but cutting out "non" light beer definitely helped) and I'm not even a big guy like Sano (6'3 185) If anything I think it shows maturity on his end and not a "drinking" or "larger" problem. Adults drink, 95% can handle it, nothing Sano has done suggests he is in the 5%
  6. Hmm, I thought Rosario was worse, maybe he improved last year though. I think Kepler needs to play everyday personally, he has the potentialy to be a very very very special player and needs to learn how to hit LHP. Rosario is more of a platoon or 4th OF type guy at this stage IMO
  7. So the white house apparently is going to "war" on legal weed. Funny how that a legalization of a harmless drug can't be left up to the states, but being able to discriminate against transgender KIDS can be left up to the states.
  8. They already said Mauer and Dozier are gonna be inserted in a couple days
  9. You gotta wake up pretty early in the morning to beat me to a Molitor is a bad manager take
  10. Do a lot of third basemen develop elbow problems? (honest question)
  11. Thanks for that info, I didn't realize that. In fact, that makes it potentially even worse IMO, they are letting him run things because of nepotism and friendship.
  12. Oh got it, I was very confused.
  13. Steve Bannon >Slap Single > Avian Flu basically.
  14. Exactly, in any other org in any other sport Molitor would have been canned, even moreso after they fired the front office and brought in a new one. It's so backwards that before they even hired a GM the Pohlads more or less said "Molitor is our manager" and honestly, it's not crazy to think it was 100% money related.
  15. If Molitor wasn't "one of us" the sentiment towards him would be a helluva lot different, Molitor has not been a good manager or even an average manager so far. Can he improve? Sure, but color me skeptical.
  16. Seems like a good reason to fire someone Molitor can blame the old regime all he wants, but let's not pretend he was doing himself any favors with his bizarre in game strategy, deployment of defense, etc I don't think TR was the guy forcing him to bunt in the early innings for instance.
  17. Bitcoin at $1200
  18. What injury would that be? Other than a ball to the face, a 3B isn't more likely to get injured more than nearly any other player (OF by far is the most "dangerous" when it comes to injuries...I guess catching as well, but you get the point)
  19. Okung would be a solid get. He isn't what he used to be, but at least he wouldn't embarrass himself out there and would be 10x better than the garbage the Vikes were tossing out on a weekly basis in 2016. It will be very disappointing if they bring back Kalil, the guy is a lazy player and a bust. No thanks.
  20. Well it's a good thing we have such a strike out heavy pitching rotati.....
  21. The defensive difference between Mauer and Vargas at 1B is huge.
  22. Mauer far and away is the best 1B on this roster, so I totally get where he is coming from. Vargas shouldn't be taking at bats away from him (and will be DHing anyways), and I would rather have Grossman platooning with Eddie Rosario who is a disaster against LHP.
  23. I would definitely take a look at Viola though, what he has done in NY has been pretty impressive.
  24. It's really absurd that the new leadership wasn't able to bring in their preferred coaching staff. It's more than apparent that Allen is out of his element in Minnesota, and Molitor is a mess as well. Very frustrating that they are going to basically waste a year as a lame duck duo.
  25. Dozier: 5.7 WAR Baez: 4.2 WAR
