He has been the Twins best SP the last few months IMO, other than a couple bad starts he has looked very very solid. Perhaps: Milone Duffey Gibson Could patch work their way to a decent playoff rotation if luck swings the right way.
I would prefer a Twins vs Cubs World Series, with the Twins winning in 5 games off a walk off HR from Sano off Fernando Rodney in the bottom of the 12th inning. Chicago burns to the ground and nothing is lost
I'm gonna do the smart thing and let it all ride on the Vikings to win the super bowl... Seriously though, I'm gonna bank the money and spend it on plane tickets/playoff tix if the Twins make it. (Though I would save on the plane tix if they get the wild card and play NYY for the WC game)
Sano will be fine, he has been so fantastic this year that a couple hitless nights makes folks worry. It's just a (very) mini slump. Once he hits one 450 tomorrow everything will be all good again,
Fun fact about Houston: Their drinking water has literally been full of Dallas Poop. http://swamplot.com/yes-youve-been-sipping-what-dallas-has-been-flushing/2014-05-14/
Houston's offense is very feast of famine, hopefully it's the latter tonight and Pelfrey can get 7 IP with 3 R or less. Ideally the Twins win by about 7 runs as well, so they can "save" May and Jepsen as much as possible.
Didn't catch the game as I was at the U.S. Open /lights fine cigar //drinks expensive brandy ///lights $100 bill on fire. But omg what a win! Following on the phone I thought they were in trouble after giving up the lead. Why would any team pitch to Sano up one run, in the 7th with Hunter on deck? To that point, they absolutely need someone other than hunter hitting behind sano. Ideally it would be dozier or Mauer(he is clutch this year)
Oh, I know, but every year there is at least one person who complains that a team didn't call up enough. My guesses would be: Pitchers: Acter Berrios one or maybe two of Tonkin+Darnell+Hamburger+Meyer Hitters: Pinto or Fryer (please be Pinto) Arcia Vargas Kepler Santana or Polanco (Though calling both up prob doesn't hurt anything)
Also while they could call up all 40 it wouldn't make any sense, the costs alone (salary, transportation, per diem, hotel) wouldn't be worth calling up an extra 7 or 8 guys (instead of 7-8 called up) just to have them sit on a crowded bench.
