    Update: Hicks tonight: 0-2, BUT with 3 walks! (Fun fact: 3 walks is over 15% of what Danny Santana has gotten in the last 3 seasons combined!!) as well as a run and a couple of real nice defensive plays in CF for another Yankee win. OPS still over 1.060

    Mauer is still around next year, and even though the results haven't been there at the plate (unlucky) they likely will come. Additionally Mauer's approach at the plate has been rubbing off on Sano a bit (that has a lot of value in itself) Like I said: 4 players, 3 spots in the lineup, plenty of the buffet to go around. It's not a given that Rosario, Vargas or Grossman are long term assets at this point as well FWIW. (Grossman is the one who worries me the most)

    There is zero, and I mean ZERO reason for Berrios to remain in AAA, I sort of begin to wonder if this is all coming from the very top of the org (Pohlads) where they still have no idea how service time and all of that works. "If we bring up Berrios, we have to increase his salary from 55k to 400k overnight! Bad investment! Bad investment!"

    Meh, the amount of at bats that can be had when talking about: LF/DH/1B are literally a buffet of them. While it's not exactly an all you can eat buffet, there is plenty of food (at bats) for Mauer, Vargas, Rosario and Grossman to have plenty.

    I agree, but take Kepler off that list. He is playing too good and his ceiling is far too high to be losing any at bats at this stage. Vargas, Rosario, Mauer, Grossman can split the at bats between the 3 positions.

    Part of the problem with the Ramos trade is that seemingly immediately after (and 3-4 years before anyone figured) Mauer suddenly got the concussion that ended his catching career. Don't get me wrong, the trade was stupid at the time and remains stupid. Not so much in the IDEA of trading Ramos, the problem is you traded him for a closer. They should have traded him for prospects etc at the time of the trade nobody knew that Mauer would be out so quickly as a catcher (and as others have pointed out: Ramos has had his share of injury issues himself) I think in 2017 though, teams are going to be much much much more protective of young catchers that show ANY promise.

    Mike I sold off some bitcoin earlier this week. Shifted some to Berkshire B and more to Nvidia. I think eventually bitcoin will take another dip, will heavy back up again then.

    lol ok, so you are asking him to give up 30% of his lifetime earnings for no reason. To an ownership group (and company) that is insanely rich and profitable no matter what. I'd love to see you do the same thing. I certainly wouldn't give up 30% of my lifetime earnings for no good reason. Especially when Perkins was literally hurt on the job! Give me a break, seriously.

    No way should Perkins retire, the Twins were able to underpay him his first 5 or so years (as is part of the game). He is only owed 6.5 million anyways, that is a rounding error to the Pohlads. That money isn't going to prevent the Twins from contending, I gurantee that! Also like I said, he is making a consensus effort to pitch again, the guy is 32, which is how old I am. He's not exactly an old man. If he can get healthy, as a RP, he could pitch for several more years.
