Just call up Berrios and be done with it. Good lord. Every team but the Twins would do that. It's literally the most simple and correct decision ever.

As I said in the other thread: Short term and ultimately meaningless "win" for the president in chump. Long term win as the GOP will get their asses handed to them in 18, as long as the Dems don't **** it up royally.

Meh, it will never pass the senate like that, and it likely just guaranteed the Dems to take the house in 2018. Short term "loss" for a long term gain.

Glad to see Falvey finally logged into his TwinsDaily account and took my much needed advice. Better late than never! I wish gibson the best of luck when he lands somewhere else, but unless he suddenly turns into cliff Lee out of nowhere I don't want to see him pitch for this club again.

Gibson final line: 4 IP 8 H 3 BB 3ER Oh, against a terrible terrible terrible offense. We going to make excuses that it was the "defenses" fault? (Same defense that Santana has had to get him a 0.66 era fwiw) Or is it time to admit that Gibby needs to be out of the rotation asap?

I think the problem with Gibson is he has been getting terrible results for pretty much the last 700 days. I don't care if it's an arm thing, a head thing, a conditioning thing. The results are terrible. He should not be in the rotation. He is due a hefty raise this year, send him to AAA or to the bullpen and see if he can right the ship. He is actively costing this team games in the meantime though. (Yes Berrios maybe would cost games as well, but he unlike Gibson has immense upside at this point at least)

But they seem perfectly happy throwing away 20% of their starts on a guy who has been TERRIBLE since May of 2015.

Continuing to play guys that have no business being in the major league at this stage (Bad Santana, Kyle Gibson) is not a minor situation. It costs games, the whole point of sports is to win the games. Games in April and May count just as much as games in July, August etc. It's an even worse situation when you clearly have guys who can do much, much better, but you bury them in the minor leagues. Berrios should have been up weeks ago, at this point every 5 days that go by we are potentially losing out on another much needed win.

Yes, how dare anyone criticize an organization that hasn't been to a World Series in 25+ years and hasn't won a playoff series in a decade and is coming off a run the past 5 years where they were overall the worst team in all of baseball. The nerve!

It's almost like the Yankees have a good approach to building a team (and rebuilding a team) and the Twins have a poor approach.

Ah yes, let's blame it all on the incompetent old regime. Scapegoating can be fun. I recall hearing the exact same thing when Smith was let go and Ryan came back "Smith ruined everything!!1!" Except we look at the roster now, and realize that Smith is the biggest reason why the Twins actually have a shot this year: Sano, Kepler, Polanco to name a few. "Gardy was the problem! Now that he is gone, surely Molly will do things so much better!" -24 months later and the Twins have the worst season in franchise history. Good lord.

Well that's why you pay the GM the big bucks! It's hard? Yeah, that's the game/biz. The amount of excuses I hear are incredible, you don't hear any other team saying "aw shucks, we would like to improve our SP, but it's kinda hard!" those teams actually go out and get it done. Hell it doesn't even need to be a #3! It could be a #4, which is miles ahead of what we currently have our of our #4/#5 spots in the rotation as it stands today.

Oh and most of the people who helped make the decisions with Ryan are still here as well. Name the last starting pitcher the Twins drafted and developed into anything more than a Nick Blackburn (5th/6th starter) or Kyle Gibson (5th/6th starter) The last one's better? Baker and Radke, both of whom made their debuts over a decade ago, and haven't been with the team in 6+ seasons. So why exactly are we suddenly just supposed to give the FO the benefit of the doubt? Because they brought on Falvey (who has done ZERO at the helm to improve this team)? Fool me once, shame on you, fool me for a decade plus, shame on me.
