  1. Zobrist definitely had a beef, that thing was 6 inches outside.
  2. Solid beer. I'm going with good old Brooklyn Pennant Ale (Seems like the right fit currently)
  3. The commish? No, if they want to rest a few guys it's 100% their right.
  4. Home Run Derby contest between Trout, Sano and Correa.
  5. It could be just me, but the Twins seem to have been hitting very well lately off "hard throwers with good stuff" and hitting a bit worse against "pitch to contact types" Kluber, Sale and Carrasco are the examples that immediately come to mind. If this is a trend, it couldn't happen at a better time (especially if the Twins happen to make the playoffs) Mauer looked great in game one, hopefully he has like two more games like that in him the rest of this regular season.
  6. The Twins are literally in the middle(end) of the playoff hunt. They would be beyond foolish to try to pull any such crap. The only scenario I would be ok with: Twins up by 7 runs or more, bottom of ninth, Ramirez at that plate, Nolasco or someone else on the mound who wont be on the playoff roster. Then by all means, throw at him. If that isn't the scenario? Let it go, or wait until 2016 for your stupid and silly payback.
  7. I have had a lot of issues (LOL) with the handling of some of the personal decisions and game managing decisions this year. But I'm not a fan of going back and second guessing specific moves or games at this point. For every game the Twins "lost a heartbreaker" they likely had one they won where they had no business winning (See: All those Chris Sale wins, the last two Kluber wins, and that amazing 7 run 9th inning comeback against Detroit) Here they are, 4 games left. If Houston loses tonight, they control their own destiny sort of (4-0 gets them a tie for the wild card) even if Houston wins, 4-0 gets them to a tie like 80% of the time. Hard to ask for more than that at this moment.
  8. Iwakuma is a FA after this season apparently. Oops Other guys I would look at: Matt Moore, Stephen Strausburg.
  9. Big game james shields? Iwakuma seems like a nice target as well, I believe he has one more year left on his contract? Mariners could use a bat like arcia and a guy like polanco maybe as well? Jose Fernandez would be a pipe dream type but the price would be insanely sky high.
  10. Berrios in AAA is fine, if you are going to refuse to bring him up during Sept, you might as well keep him down another month or two to start the season to save the money. Duffey- Assuming he doesn't fall apart the rest of this season, gets injured or just has an absolutely dreadfull ST (Like 10+ ERA dreadfull) there is zero reason why he shouldn't be in the opening day rotation. If the Twins make the playoffs he is arguably our best playoff SP.
  11. Agreed, and then find a way to package some of the cost affordable mid rotation guys (Gibson, Milone) and some prospects to bring in an ace type to lead the rotation.
  12. Yeah, not a lot of guys are really due for regression, maybe Escobar? which is key. Hicks, Rosario, Buxton, Sano, May, Berrios, Duffey, Santana, Hughes should contribute more next year due to expierence and/or playing time. It has the makings of a 90-92 win team, especially if they can fix catching and the bullpen a bit.
  13. Yeah, that was the July 1st thought. Berrios won't break camp with the club and the 5th spot will likely goto Milone or Nolasco IMO.
  14. It's very cliche then, it had nothing to do with "fight" and everything to do with tossing out a lineup half full of replacement level players and a pitching staff full of them. Gardy won 5 division titles in like 8 years, I'm not sure why you needed to take a pot shot at him in an article about the 2015 Twins. People seem to forget that Gardy was once considered one of the best 2 or 3 managers in the game and will be back in the majors again in 2016 as a head skipper.
  15. Great article as always. Santana is definitely a bright spot to look forward to in 2016, if Hughes can bounce back healthy we have a pretty nice looking July 1st rotation going with: Santana Hughes Duffey Gibson Berrios
  16. He looked solid the other day again, I just wouldn't trust him to pitch any more than one inning at this point (Which is what doomed us in that heartbreaker last week)
  17. Agreed, I can think of like 8 games off the top of my head where I just know that the Twins would have lost without Sano.
  18. I don't see how you have Hunter and Mauer over guys like Escobar and Hicks, two guys that solved long standing issues at their respective positions, but also played very well overall (and amazing during a stretch that got the Twins back "in the hunt") MVP Sano Dozier (Power Gap) Hicks Escobar Rosario Perkins (Power Gap) Gibson Duffey May ROY: Sano Rosario Duffey Cy Young: Perkins
  19. Yeah, that Gardy led team that was 3 games out of the playoffs with 4 games left in the season had no fight in them whatsoever..... Timely pitching, timely hitting and Miguel Sano have gotten the Twins to this point.
  20. HUGGGGGE Win. Hopefully one of Oakland or Seattle can win tonight as well. (Not even asking for both!)
  21. Ok that makes sense then. Thanks.
  22. Hicks is a great OF but man he seems to be timid on the warning track
  23. I don't get pulling Milone here...
