  1. If the Twins played in Yankee stadium, I think Sano would hit 50 Hr a year easy. Plouffe and Dozier: over 30
  2. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything
  3. Man hicks looks good. Bringing in a LhP against Sano? Make him pay!
  4. or that report by Jeremy which said the Rockies asked for Gibson... So yeah, there was definitely smoke on this theory bud.
  5. Yet another terrible outing by Gibson. Teams figuring out he doesn't have any good stuff? Destined to be yet another Nick Blackburn type?
  6. Should have traded Gibson for Tulo when we had the chance. He looks like **** now.
  7. I'm not sure what else he needs to do at AAA at this point, he should be up ASAP for one of the 13 pitchers the Twins have on the roster.
  8. If I had to guess anything it would be injury. Hip injuries seem to "stick" around for long periods of time, hell A-Rod basically vanished for over a year due to one, and even when he was "healthy-ish" he was playing poorly. Hopefully he can perform well in ST next year and win a spot as at least a platoon DH type out of ST.
  9. I think you need to change your twitter handle on your profile...
  10. Call Robinson a "4th Of" all you want, but he has started in 40% of the last 15 games.
  11. What has Shane Robinson done right this year? (Knuckleballs in blowouts don't count)
  12. He played 11 games!!! The whole team struggled during that time. The offense scored 3 or less runs in 7 of those games. 2 or less in 5 of those games. He had 37 at bats! And fwiw he went 4-14 in his last 3 games .333 BA anyways before the injury. And yeah he was 0-4 with 4ks in his last MLB game, but I will give him a slight pass since that was against Chris Sale who likely will win the Cy Young this year or very soon Also a broken finger is NOT a serious injury. Please.
  13. There have been and currently are plenty of alternatives for Suzuki. Also, hunter isn't "locked in" he has to take a minimum of 2 days off a week at this point, and Rosario is pulled for tough LHP anyways. That is even before we get into Mauer and his one day off a week (opens up DH for Hunter) Robinson is playing 2-3 times per week. He should not be. Buxton would certain be significantly better option then him for now and the future.
  14. I acknowledge that the Twins are the worst team in baseball since the all star break. They have the number 1 prospect in baseball who is now healthy and has proved he deserves a good long chance currently at the major league level. I acknowledge that there is no reason why he should be one of the 25 guys currently on the major league roster.
  15. The twins clearly don't think so. Otherwise Robinson wouldn't be on this team and Suzuki wouldn't be the starting C, neither has done anything to "earn" their current roles. And this isn't even including the bullpen mess and SS mess.
  16. Yeah, that's beyond silly. The Twins have kept up plenty of struggling players over the years. Gomez, Hicks, Santana, etc etc etc
  17. You are right, I can't say with a fact what Ryan did or did not do at the deadline.(btw implying that I was saying he was eating Bon bons or watching Netflix when I never implied any such thing is the exact thing as flame baiting and trolling) TR has been a GM for 17 years, and for 17 out of 17 years he has not ONCE been what most outside observers and Twins fans ever call "aggressive" at the trade deadline. Not. once. So sure, maybe this year he was oh oh oh so close to pulling off a move for a Tulo or a catcher, but the last 17 years of results tell a very different story. call it trolling or whatever you want, 17 for 17 years isn't jumping to wild conclusions, it's very much a trend. Ryan is most likely the most conservative GM in baseball, please feel free to refute with arguments back that don't include me dismissing him as some Neflix and Bon Bons binger.
  18. FYI: There are 56 qualified OF in baseball. Hunter ranks 44th in WAR and in the bottom half of OF in OPS+ with qualified and anyone with 200+ at bats.
  19. One more prime example of Ryan doing a stupid move as a GM. Nobody else was going to give Hunter 10.5 million this year, why the hell do you just give him a no trade clause as well? Those are typically reserved for guys signing long term contracts in their prime, not for 39 year old one year contracts.
  20. Because now dont they have to wait 10 days before they call him up to the MLB club?
  21. seems like a perfect time to trade Hunter actually. Buxton needs to get the at bats eventually, whether it's today, 10 days from now or Sept. Gotta take those at bats from Hunter at some point this year. Might as well trade him while you can, get something in return, and get Hunter a chance at a ring.
  22. Also Bonnes, 3-12, they aren't contenders at this point with this club. Period, the only shot they would have to turn things around and to contend would be to cut the fat and bring up some superior players with actual upside: Berrios, Buxton, etc As far as "leadership" goes, where has been the leadership when the Twins have completely imploded 3-12 against some very very mediocre teams overall?
  23. The Twins outfield has something like a combined OPS+ between 100-103. I'm not sure that warrants "if that doesn't pleas you nothing can please you!" Also, the minute Terry Ryan refused to make any relevant move at the deadline and continues to not make moves to improve the team he made it clear the Twins have no real plans of contending this year. Hunter hasn't played poorly this year, but he also hasn't played great. He is at best an average hitter for his position (and that's being very kind) and at best an average Fielder for his position (super kind) who isn't going to be getting better and isn't going to be around after this year with the club. There is literally zero, and I mean zero reason why Buxton shouldn't be at the very least taking the at bats in the 2-3games a week that Hunter doesn't play anyways. What it all comes down to is Terry being uber conservative because he is able to, there is absolutely zero accountability for a guy who was named "general manager until he doesn't want to any more" despite 1 playoff series win in 17 years, by an ownership group who's 1st,2nd, 3rd, and 4th priorities are profit profit profit.
