  1. She clearly made some mistakes, but that is what people do, they make mistakes, she didn't break any laws, thus, she isn't going to get indicted/prosecuted. Of course that whole thing gets lost int he political spin. (Corruption!!!!)
  2. Well said, the poor right time and time again are the easiest to "brain wash" with "AMERICAH!!" rhetoric, so much so that they will often be vehemently opposed against their own interests. i.e. the guy making 25k a year who is opposed to a minimum wage increase, yes, he already may make more than minimum wage, but can't understand how it will possibly increase his wages moving forward as well. Ditto with the people who are vehemently against social programs, yet some day may need them. The left clearly has some issues as well, but they don't seem to use the same tricks to get the poor to vote against their own self interests IMO note: of course I admit I am biased being a hippie liberal douche to begin with
  3. I think it goes without saying that nearly everyone would prefer to trade Nolasco over Santana. Ditto with Danny Santana over Brian Doizer. If they can find any team that will take Nolasco, dump him immediately, if they can find a decent return for Santana? Do it immediately.
  4. Sounds like the best thing the Twins have done all year for their fans, let them spend some time with friends and family instead of wasting 3 hours watching the same old dumpster fire.
  5. Santana isn't bad, but has no real business being in a rebuilding club next year. Veteran #4's grow on trees anyways. Take any halfway decent prospect you can get for him and call it a day. Maybe use some of that money and sign an impact free agent for once.
  6. At this point you really have to question if the front office has any real plan or idea.
  7. should have made this move weeks ago and kept Arcia during that non existent "roster crunch" "Two weeks too late."- The Terry Ryan story.
  8. They would have gotten the pick back the following year anyways.
  9. 0-2 with a walk last night.
  10. Why on earth would Seattle want him!?!? Where would he play?
  11. I wanted Desmond signed, along with several others I believe Thylos was one as well. I didnt want him for the OF of course, but as an upgrade at SS. He was the perfect bounce back candidate and would have been great on a 3 year deal. The Park deal of course made no sense at the time, and even less sense now. Unfortunately this team would still be about 20 games below .500 at this point anyways, since the twins have refused to actually look for front end rotation guys (I wanted them to trade for Hamels last year, or sign Cueto this year) and refused to fix the bullpen.
  12. 10 races left to the chase. Been a fun season so far, lots of winners and nobody really dominating across the board. It was great to see Smoke get a win and get into the chase, this sport is better when Tony Stewart is relevant. Back to Daytona this week, I think this is Dale Jr's race to lose. Obviously everything at Daytona is a coinflip, but if Dale can avoid the wrecks early he should be able to pull off the W and stamp his place in the chase. My longshots this week (30:1 odds+) are Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney.
  13. When it comes to Pohlad, I will believe it when I see it. If Pohlad really wants Ryan gone at this point, why hasn't he already fired him? What is the point in letting a guy stay around when he knows he is a lame duck? Anything short of a new front office will be business as usual (especially if they let Ryan name his successor..again)
  14. The Twins will sweep this series, because that is how baseball works.
  15. Good article Nick. This team is in trouble and won't compete until 2018 at the earliest now. The silver lining is that it will free up about 900 hours of my spring/summer time the rest of this year and all of next year.
  16. Yeah, this is really weird.
  17. Sorry 7th out of 15th, that still isn't very good, it's literally just slightly above average. Slight above average should never be the "goal" Finishing 3 games out of the playoffs in a league where 33% of the teams now make the playoffs isn't some big achievement IMO. If they never would have signed hunter or Pelfeey and used that money for a couple good RP or Nelson Cruz there is a very good shot they would have made the playoffs. Instead we get no playoffs, and a 2016 team that is the worst in baseball. Fun times!
  18. I wasn't trying to be antagonistic....I haven't seen one person in this thread defend trump or support trump btw, and even mentioned how I saw the appeal of past GOP candidates and even ones this election cycle. I will rephrase it: I am interested to hear how someone can vote for trump, a guy who is racist, xenophobic, petty, and clearly lies all the time (the last thing being common for many politicians...but still) what are the upsides to trump? He's kinda rich? He has a slick tongue? He will "make America great again" by kicking out all the Muslims and Mexicans? He really hasn't laid out any real plans for the economy other than (winning the trade deals) and hasn't laid out any real plans for defense as well. I understand people have reservations with Hillary, but again, I don't see how those negatives come close to comparing with Trumps.
  19. Duffey hasn't shown he belongs in the majors at this point, he has been dreadful. Meyer? Who knows, but I wouldn't be keeping a rotation spot open for him....
  20. 1.194 OPS since the trade. Park at DH has a .203 ops during that time.
  21. Ha, fair enough. In my experience the bars that allow dogs: 1. Make sure no dog hair is in the beer 2. Don't serve any real food anyways. I get if dogs were everywhere you went it would be annoying, but as a Dog Owner, it's kind of a nice thing from time to time to be able to hit up a brewery or bar after a long weekend walk with the pup. One of my favorite bars here is actually called "Lucky Dog" and they open up the whole backyard to dog owners, heading there is like the world's greatest dog park. My dog can have a few hours of awesomeness hanging out and playing with other dogs, and we can have a few beers outside during the nice weather. Back on topic now: Again, how can any reasonable human vote for Trump? I disliked Romney and the McCain/Palin (mostly bc of Palin) ticket quite a bit, but I totally get their appeal. Trump? Ugh.
  22. All good points, I just fear that plan B would instantly be Pat Dean again. However if I had to prioritize "moves" to be made in FA or trades heading into 2017 it would be the following (as of today): 1. A starting catcher. 2. Two legit 7th/8th/9th inning type RP 3. A starting pitcher with upside, but still could give you some innings as a #4 worst case scenario: Sabathia, Fister etc 4. A DH.
  23. When has that ever happened to you? Are you straining your beers through dog hair or something?
  24. Way too little, way too late. The Twins ended up with the 8th best record out of 15 teams. Not good.
  25. Hu isn't a better prospect than Stewart, however that doesn't mean it's "Ok" the Twins gave him away for a mediocre RP.
