Yes that's exactly what I said. I'm all for subsidizing college (or trade schools) for the poor, we already do that somewhat, but we need to do better in that area. I already have suggested several times in this thread that we should make community college (2 years) free for everyone (assuming they maintain a 2.5 GPA) That would cut down on the student loan debt 50% in most cases. But this idea of not paying off loans because you don't want to get a real job after college is ridiculous.

As someone that took out 65k in student loans (and paid them off) the only real solution is making people realize they can't borrow a **** load of money and not pay it off. If you doubt your ability to make that money in the first 10-15 years to pay off (interest etc included) then perhaps you shouldn't borrow it in the first place.

Yup true, very true. Those same people also had a lot of time on their hands to make a (failed) Twitter/Facebook/Reddit "movement" as well This country has a lot of serious issues, some idiot that took out 75k in loans to get some half assed degree and then refuse to get anything close to a "real" career, is pretty far down the list for me personally.

Call it rhetoric all you want, I live in the most expensive city by far that has the highest taxes by far that also is one of the mostLiberal cities in this entire country. I can assure you this "rhetoric" is well received amongst most people here. Don't believe it? Check every single public poll out there. If a Sanders "fan" wants to vote for trump Over Hillary because of this VP choice then they are literally the definition of an idiot. In reality "Bernie bros" were made up of young white males in liberal states anyways (that were never swing states anyways) upsetting them should be the least of issues. Those types never vote anyways, and the states they are found in are heavy blue as well. Sorry if that sounds harsh, but it's the stone cold reality.

She wasn't trying to win your vote (or mine) since she already has it. It's about winning the election, which is literally the only thing that matters for these next 4 (or 8) years.

It's a great pick, it's all about winning the election at this point and this was by far the best pick. I know the Bernie bros wanted this to be some socialist utopia where nobody was responsible for the choices they made (like taking out student loans as an adult) and wanted someone to wipe out the system Mr Robot style, but the reality is this: we absolutely can not let someone like Trump win. A lot will be said "lesser of two evils" and other nonsense. But in reality Hillary and Kaine are more or less Obama and Biden 2.0, but with a little more foriegn policy experience and a little (or a moderate amount of less charisma) More or less it's time for the lazy Bernie bros to grow a brain and get with the program, nothing with be handed to you in this country, if you want something close to "fair" you will keep trump out of office.

Kaine would be a good choice IMO, he has been rumored for sometime to be a VP type (Obama in 2008) and is generally well respected. He also speaks Spanish and is a catholic (this will help bring out some of the religious vote and Hispanic vote IMO) and has a good background when it comes to security (he is tough on ISIS etc) which is going to be another main theme to this campaign. Is he the most "sexy" young future of the party type pick? No. But it's all about winning IMO, and bringing him on will help appeal to a lot of the "middle", hispanics, people concerned about ISIS as well as a decent amount of "moderate republicans" who are looking for ANY reason not to vote for Trump. He also is only 58 years old, so technically he could run for POTUS in 8 years. Vilsack on the other hand would be a poor choice IMO.

Meh, trump had nothing to do with this speech, he can't help himself from screwing himself over later on, on Twitter, and interview or a debate. The debates are will where he will ultimately bury himself, no carefully written speeches over the course of weeks will save him then. Hillary has her issues, but she kills it in debates IMO

Or maybe it's because people generally like it when people admit to their mistakes and look to move on/get better from them. The reason people hate A Rod, Bonds, Clemens etc is because of all the denials.

Big Papi is a class act, one of the bet power hitters of my generation, and a great ambassador for MLB. I remember meeting him a couple times when he was with the Twins, he was the most open and friendly guy ever. I hate the Red Sox, but I hope he can win one last ring in his last season. It's nice to see legends go out on top. Also he never got suspended for for roids, so give it a rest. Everyone was on stuff back then, or at least 50-60% of players. He has continued to mash bombs even with tougher testing anyways. The dude is a first ballot hall of famer.

To be honest, the trump campaign is doing her no favors, they easily could have said "someone on the speech writing team made a mistake" instead they are just doubling down on it not being plagiarism and just a lie said by the Clinton camp and the evil liberal media. It also was discovered that she and the campaign have been lying about a college degree that she in fact doesn't actually have. Lastly, I haven't seen any personal jabs that go over the line with her (perhaps it helps that I don't visit any political forums, and have more or less unfollowed every idiot I know on Facebook) but being potential First Lady/first man/first spouse opens you up to some criticism. It's part of the game, people bashed Hillary during Clintons run and 8 years in office, ditto with Michelle (and even her kids). It's not "right" but it's sort of comes with the territory this year.

My "dream" wasn't for Ryan to get fired, my hope is for the Twins to compete for a title. I am skeptical of that hope if DSP is running round his search and the new GM has no say over next years manager.. Clearly I'm not alone in that skepticism.

And I think you are giving the Pohlads way way way way too much benefit of the doubt. Have you been following this same org we have for the past 20 years? These are the guys who tried to get rid of the Twins period! The guys who have never said one forward thinking baseball idea (and many question their even basic understanding of the game)

On the bright side, I would like to thank the Pohlads for the following: - I canceled two baseball trips to Boston and Minnesota for later in the summer, I refuse to spend my time and somewhat hard earned money on this franchise this year. I think I saved $2500 or so overall. Thanks Jimb - I'd also like to thank them for saving me approximately 10'hours a week I would normally be watching this team this summer, that number is down to about 2 hours per week overall. With that saved time I have been able to do the following: -brushed up on my cooking, jerky making, sausage making, BBQ, butchering skills. -worked on my tan for my pale ass. -caught a few hundred Pokemon in Pokemon go. -worked out a bit more. -caught up on reading. -picking up Farsi a bit more. -traveling to better locations than target field, Kauffman or Fenway this summer. So thanks Pohlads! Keep up the crappy work! A couple more years of This and I will probably be a triathlete who has a Michelin star, and wins a senate seat!
