    I'm not the one making player decisions for a baseball team that we follow though, am I? I mean, if every team or every brand or every corporation in this world had to align with every single thing that I agree with, then I wouldn't be able to function or live in a society right? This is just a baseball game in the end. The Twins made such a large point when they signed Nelson Cruz that they wanted him for his bat AND for how great he will be in the clubhouse. Having a strong clubhouse, they've said on a number of occasions, is something that they strive for, as it helps build winning in their opinion. I will say, IF Falvey were to agree to sign someone like Clevinger, I would think the team would be comfortable signing him and adding him to the clubhouse. Doesn't mean I have to like it or not, it just means that Falvey et al decided he could be a fit. Based on their past acquisitions, I'd be surprised.

    I never said that. But Falvey certainly knows him from his time in Cleveland. You don’t think Falvey (and others) have the entire book on player personality fits?

    Falvey certainly knows of his potential character fit, no? And even if charges never came, strong allegations of both domestic abuse and child abuse don’t work well with a healthy clubhouse

    I like Varland, SWR and Canterino all more. Festa eventually too, and Dobnak more than most on this list. I think depth wise they are ok. When they add a pitcher, I want it for the front of the rotation

    Their run differential last year pointed to more of a 94 win team, and that was without a healthy Lewis, Buxton and Correa. That over for win total is an easy one for me. All of the others seem more fair on their own

    I think the team momentum never stopped. Just because fans want something to happen or not didn't change that at all right? What momentum did the team actually lose? I'm not seeing it.

    AI, the idea of it and all, kind of freaks me out a bit. That said, reading of Bonnes as one of these makes me want to put that request in an ai generator to see what it looks like. Can anyone do that for us?

    Plus with Emmanuel Rodriguez and eventually Walker Jenkins coming down the pike, the options in the outfield (with Wallner et al) will be fascinating to follow.

    I think IF his shoulder his healthy, and he can get back to even 80%^ of what he was in 2022, Jose Miranda is a closer Solano comp. Miranda's career strikeout rate is more like 15-18%^, which is a LOT less than Severino. We will see how healthy his shoulder is, but I'd absolutely give Miranda a chance on the 26 man a LOT faster than I would Severino.

    This is PROBABLY the opening day roster (and it will change by game 5, as always) but I have a hard time saying the offseason is DONE every with this front office. Should be a great season ahead!

    He is only 28, and can play a good up the middle position defensively. But yeah, his 2021-2022 seasons give a ton of pause. This will be an earn-it type season upcoming

    Santana is a very good defensive 1b who will get a lot of at bats against left handed pitching

    I think Kepler’s 2024 season, if he can even be 75% of what his 2nd half 2023 was, is more valuable (along with his defense) to winning in 2024 compared to trading him would do. I don’t see them trading Kepler before the deadline unless they are out of it at that point, which I also don’t expect. Kirilloff could slide to dh too, that works for me. I hope he is healthy

    You believe more in AK, like, for the current AND the future? I guess I can’t go that far. It would be great if he can be healthy, that’s absolutely a good thing. But I like Lee’s future in the lineup more. I’d love for both to have long and productive careers

    I think these things can be unrelated. But we will see how the spring looks. I think Lee is very close to ready, so when he is, he is going to be up and playing right? And he won’t be playing in the outfield. We will see how it plays out, but I wouldn’t quickly put Kirilloff back in the outfield

    I don’t see why it’s Kirilloff vs Kepler. The twins have said that Kirilloff is basically only a 1b going forward, while Kepler is a legitimately good defensive outfielder. If they trade Kirilloff, I take it more as Lee vs Kirilloff. They would want Lee in the lineup more than Kirilloff in the lineup, in that sense.

    Lavelle mentioned Kirilloff being traded as well on their chin music podcast. Where there is smoke I suppose there could be fire

    I can get behind that too. I know Julien is working at 1b some too, so HOPEFULLY 1b is a strength this year (with Santana able to play against lefties.) But yeah, I don't think they won't be open to adding. It's just these big 4 aren't what they need to be adding. I agree with that.

    I'm also thinking, with the Twins NOT being in on Bellinger, that tells me that Kirilloff's wrist is feeling good, and they are truly thinking that Buxton is healthy. IF both of those are true, that's a good thing right?

    This one is fascinating as well. Great read! I know I am under-estimating (frankly, not counting on much) from either Paddack or Varland, and even Canterino. I'm very much open to being pleasantly surprised.
