  1. I think Sabato needs to sustain what he's done so far this year for at least another month.
  2. I haven't seen the hit charts, but I can't recall Bader hitting many balls to the right side or fly balls for that matter. There's a lot of guys like that who hit almost all their grounders to the pull side. It's probably a better chance to just swing to hit the ball hard.
  3. Durán apparently was sick yesterday. Does anyone else know if he's available tonight?
  4. Good guys I've spoken to: Brian Dozier, Kyle Gibson, Darrell Miller (Reggie's brother) and Dennis Martinez.
  5. Tough to get these guys out when pitching behind in the count.
  6. I vaguely remember Perkins being something of a bad boy before he settled into his role as a closer. Maybe he groused about being sent down when he was a starter.
  7. Not good, but I'm guessing that the hand started to hurt and they are taking X-rays.
  8. Two good innings for Festa. I'll be holding my breath all game about Buck's hand.
  9. I was pretty confident that Joe would ultimately be named. I'm glad he gets the recognition.
  10. If the Cubs didn't mess up, Jeffers was an easy out. It does pay to be aggressive. On a related note, I wish we didn't have so many slow guys.
  11. I knew that I would have to learn how to spell and pronounce Misiewicz.
  12. He was placed on the Development List, not released. Yunior Severino was released.
  13. Lots of right handed batters in the lineup with Lee and Clemens on the bench to start. Cubbies starting a different catcher and third baseman, but their lineup is head and shoulders better than the Twins. The Slim Reaper needs to be sharp from his first pitch.
  14. I was at that game! The Twins got a close call at first base in the first inning and Keuchel kept the Pirates off balance for seven (?) innings. The ump was giving a couple of inches on the outside corner and Keuchel kept using that space. I don't think he threw a fastball over 88.
  15. Nice game for Rodriguez as he returned from the Injured List. A lot of notable good hitting, including Eeles at St. Paul and Rosario, Gonzalez and Culpepper at Wichita. I again want to inquire about Patrick Winkel. It has been my understanding that his bat is questionable, but he's a good receiver. He's a left handed hitter and he has an .844 OPS this year. He has seven homers in 95 plate appearances. Aaron Sabato is another positive story. It seems that he was going to be confirmed as a first round bust, but has been among the most productive Twins' minor league hitters this year.
  16. Speaking of left handed and breathing, the Twins DFA'd Joey Wentz today. I am willing to bet that Joey will get chances with other teams this year and beyond.
