  1. Great to see a series W---first since ASB---with several prospects (Keaschall and Roden) and journeymen (Hatch and Kriskie) contributing in major ways to bring home a victory. I want to temper my optimism (hope is a dangerous thing) on Keaschall, but this kid is a DUDE! Saw him play 2 games for Wind Surge last year against Cardinals AA team and came away impressed with his quick bat and power. Moreover, he plays with great enthusiasm and grit. Reminds me of a lighter version of one of my all-time Twins favorites---the Rat---Gary Gaetti! Also, quite impressed by the performance of Hatch. Wow! Where did that come from?? Might be his best performance in his career. The way he pitched today, he earned some additional opportunities after ownership nuked our bullpen last week. With Keaschall's impressive return from injury, I'm stoked to see Kalen Culpepper, Gabby Gonzalez and Walker Jenkins next week as I'm making my annual road trip (from KC area) down to Springfield, Mo to see two games next week. Taking solace in small victories for the remainder this season.
  2. Has there EVER been a SLOWER runner than Correa in the history of this organization? My only answer in recent history (last 20 years) is the immortal Matthew LeCroy. I know Correa has dealt with his fair share of lower body injuries, but he's got to be the SLOWEST active mlb starting SS.
  3. I know insignificant, but whoever totaled bullpen usage chart for Duran is wrong. Not only did Duran NOT pitch yesterday (34 pitches), he did throw 16 pitches in Friday's save. Also, Jax did not pitch in Saturdays (all to infrequent) blowout victory.
  4. Great write up Chris on the numerous prospects that are producing for the Wind Surge. I know selfish on my part, but I'm hopeful that all of these guys are still playing for the Surge in mid August as I have a 2-game road trip planned to see them in Springfield, Mo against the Cardinals AA affiliate.
  5. Agree 100% with your assessment. Options for the day included: A. Taking a nap B. Reading a book C. Doing some pre-fantasy football prep work or D. Tuning into to watch the entirety of the Twins game. E. A, B and C, but absolutely NOT choice D My Answer: E For anyone answering "D"----my question is WHY??? The 8th amendment outlaws "cruel and unusual punishment"
  6. Big THANK YOU to Harrison Bader! Absolutely dart of a throw to nail Norby at the plate. Question: What is "the plan" (dare we have one) to replace Ober in the rotation? Saw that Funderburk (yawn) was called up today.
  7. That is correct.......34.88% of games---2 runs or less, which includes tonight's 2-1 victory. 30 of 86 games with 2 runs or less.......record improves to 3-27 in those games.
  8. 29th game (of 85 played) that this abysmal offense has scored 2 runs or less. No shock that 27 losses of resulted from that ineptitude choreographed by Falvey, On pace for another 26 games of futility, Will be fortunate to finish in 4th place. Sickening.
  9. Does this REALLY surprise anyone? Its the Twins way. Absolutely pathetic.
  10. I'm sure many TD fans remember the following quote from--"The Natural," which seems quite appropriate to the current sad state of affairs with this entire organization: "Losing is a disease.....as contagious as bubonic plague....attacking one...but infecting all" I refuse to invest any more time and emotional attachment to this team until a complete and total overhaul happens. Peace out.
  11. Not much to comment on other than ANOTHER game just p*ssed away. I've held my negativity to a point, but I can't much longer after watching our $30+ million player have ANOTHER in a long string of pathetic games at the plate. 1-5 today with a scalded infield single. Yippee! 3 straight ABs in game today with RISP and Mr. Big Bucks fails to even get the ball out of the infield! Wimpy ground ball to 1B---in 5th Foul pop up to catcher in 7th Popup to SS in 10th. I know we're stuck with Mr. Big Bucks/Zero production for multiple years to come, but I will say---and please bring on the argument against this statement: Carlos Correa is the WORST free agent signing in the HISTORY of this organization.
  12. Another dismal SP performance tonight. Paddack got rocked early and Stros kept up the carnage without much of any fight from our stagnant offense against a pitcher I've never heard of. 70 runs allowed in last 8 games. Seventy....ooofdah! Pretty surprising 2 wins achieved in that span of games. Only good thing is seeing Kansas City continue to play as bad.
  13. Great outing by Festa to limit early damage and make it though 6. Buxton absolutely obliterated that slider for a mammoth HR. Guessing it has to rank (479 feet) as 1 of the top 5 Twins HRs in Target Field history. Also kuddos to Castro! Huge 2 RBI triple to open things up. Need Ober to bounce back from his last mediocre start tomorrow in finale.
  14. Better return than I expected---a used bag of baseballs for batting practice. How does this affect 40-man roster? Last nights implosion by Alcala---especially his mental mistake of backing up a scorched single to RF on the 1B SIDE, which resulted in a throwing error by Wallner (?)--had to be the final straw.
  15. The 2 bombs Culpepper hit in this afternoon's doubleheader for Kernels should accelerate his promotion to Wichita.
  16. Easy to post 4 hours later, but ANOTHER meltdown by Jax tonight is beyond concerning. 4-1 lead totally p^ssed away. Just another reason NOT to invest any time into this team.
  17. Living in the KC area this abysmal performance the last 4 days (minus last night) makes for some rough upcoming days being surrounded by a plethora of bandwagon Royal fans. As mentioned in the game summary--the Twins CONTINUED FAILURE to produce with RISP far beyond "worrisome." It is absolutely PATHETIC! For anyone interested this collection of misfit hitters.... minus the 3 games in Chicago (9-20) are hitting just over the Mendoza line for the season against STL, HST and KC. Now 19-84 (..226 average) on the season. Making matters even worse in their now 9 losses (with many more to come) this group of POOR hitters are hitting .181 (13-72). As we all know you have to score RUNS to win! Twins have scored 3 runs or less (all losses) in 8 games already. They've scored 2 runs or less in 7 of 13 games. Beyond the lack of clutch hitting---KC was only 5-25 in this series---is the continued poor defense and inconsistent to BAD pitching, especially with our supposed strong bullpen. This is a LOST season already. For those naysayers out there, please point out ANY REASON to believe this team will rebound and even sniff contending for a playoff spot. The inevitable injury to Buxton (who's not producing) is inevitable. Lewis is no reason for hope. Castro hasn't done anything. Lopez going on DL for likely at least a 2-3 week stretch. Since their absolute tank last season losing 27 of their last 39 games this team is now 16-36, 16 wins and 36 losses for a winning percentage of .307. This team is cooked and any long time/open minded fan (I've been a Twins fan since the early 1970s) knows it. Nothing will EVER change with this franchise until NEW OWNERSHIP comes in and makes a concerted effort (like the Wolfs/Vikings) to put a winning product on the field. I really hate being so negative so early this season, but I cannot and will not invest my time and support to an organization that has zero accountability and leadership.
  18. Only a 1-run deficit in 3rd inning, but am I in the minority that's totally disgusted by the lack of effort by Correa JOGGING to first base on his 3-6-3 DP to end the inning? Is it too much to ask Mr. $30million plus to actually hustle? I guess so as there's no accountability in the organization from the ownership down to our manager.
  19. Missed the game (intentionally) and glad I did so. Words are hard to come by at this point, but here's a few to describe this team & their manager: Apathetic Rudderless Uninterested Indifferent Nothing to say about the pitiful performance by Paddack today. Just a complete meltdown. At least Ober had an excuse for his bad outing yesterday. I said after the abysmal 12-27 finish last season with very little done to improve this team in the offseason we were a 4th place team that would lose at least 90 games. At this point, that prediction appears overly optimistic.
  20. Count me in the pessimistic club. Yes, only 1 game (L) in, but when your top 3 hitters go 0-12, I don't see a lot of optimism moving forward. Not only was the top of the lineup bad, but our situational hitting (RISP) was again abysmal...1-8 today. This is a 4th place club. I just don't see anything resembling a playoff contending team...especially is ANY of our top 3 SPs have an extended DL stint.
  21. Where is Carlos Santana on this list? He should at least warrant inclusion in the top (worst) 5
