  1. I imagine both will be selected as reserves. Buxton should probably rest his knee instead; Arraez must be there.
  2. Minnesota sushi is walleye, wild rice, and tater tot hot dish.
  3. The answer to this question will most likely come in Sept.-Oct. Let’s hope that corresponds to a high point in the cycle.
  4. I’d definitely swap Arraez and Correa; otherwise concur with the youngsters pushing Kepler. Also, Celestino, Urshela, and Sanchez have exceeded expectations.
  5. Clearly trade him at the deadline for Zac Gallen.
  6. Of course it is ultimately none of our damn business.
  7. Just a quick glance through this list tells me many people do not quite get what the current state of professionalism is. In the tech industry, this kind of thing happens all the time. Even non-compete clauses get negotiated around. Beyond that wishing him the best. Sounds like a nice raise.
  8. It's at its best when done in a game where a player plays all 9 positions. Not including DH, of course.
  9. As I recall, Cory Koskie was not a good 3rd baseman when he started. He got better. It's been known to happen.
  10. Public relations moves to appease the unrealistic expectations of a fan base?
  11. I wonder if there is data to normalize this against how defenders are placed in the various shifts that are employed? Maybe there are range issues because batters are hitting ‘em where they ain’t.
  12. Seems to me he’s getting a shot. I remember with Polanco he was up and down for short bursts for a couple of seasons, despite hitting pretty well when getting those opportunities.
  13. Might be time for a return of the knuckleballers. I seem to recall Wilbur Wood starting both games of a doubleheader.
  14. “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds…” - Emerson
  15. I’ll go with the HBP on the bad wrist scenario.
  16. Of course, as any casino in the world can attest, fools are (usually) numberproof.
  17. I think we were all spoiled by Mauer’s tenure as a catcher. Not something you see every day.
  18. I’m a bit surprised there hasn’t been more comparison with Joe Mauer. But ultimately Luis is Luis and he is and will be one of a kind.
  19. Right, as soon as the 13 pitchers rule takes effect he will be up, if not before. Also need to see how long Ryan and Gray make it through this first pass before thinking of moving pitching.
