  2. Yeah, I try to make it a point not to type anything I wouldn't say to somebody's face. Both a good reminder that there's a real person on the other end of the ether, and it helps to pretend they can smack you if you go too far. And vice versa.
  3. This should be every day. In fact, Dick and Bert should do this the remainder of the season.
  4. http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Proof Although also be aware of and enjoy... http://whatis.techtarget.com/definition/fuzzy-logic Perhaps it turns out hat 'proof' really is only just for alcohol.
  5. Indeed, the Sun never rises. The Earth rotates.

  7. I hope you reach a consensus soon. http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/
  8. I have to admit I find sanctity of life arguments hard to accept when living in a nation founded by mass murder and holding a nuclear stockpile pretty much capable of de-populating the planet. Not to mention constantly engaged in warfare over control of natural resources on somebody else's land. It's pretty clear that history shows humanity actually holds life in utter contempt. Both human and otherwise. Counter-examples are the exception. Which leads to this point; the abortion debate is not about life, it's about control. I'm really happy with not trying to exercise control over others' private lives, and ask the same in return.
  9. Nightmare at Nov. 2016.
  10. As you might expect, any of the members of the anti-science group won't get my vote.
  11. Mr. Mike, is this what you're going by? http://www.ocfoodies.com/page/foodie-holiday-calender

  13. It's Minnesota. The Twins pitchers are passive-aggressive
  14. Every day is a food and drink holiday if you do them right. Something I really enjoyed about Europe.
  15. It's good to point out that not all of us are like Dawkins, Hitchens, or Harris; i.e., jerks about it. This young man has nothing but my admiration for sense of self in what could be about the worst peer pressure situation imaginable. And kudos to those who accept him while maintaining their own beliefs. It's not a threat; it's diversity. Which is how our species grows.
  16. Let us not forget the kissing cousins of the fallacy; the paradox. The statistical paradoxes are particular;y entertaining. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_paradoxes
  17. Plenty more animals in the zoo... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fallacies Also, it's refreshing to remember that the first ideas to be subjected to critical thought are one's own.
  18. It could be worse. http://www.startribune.com/what-if-the-hiroshima-bomb-were-dropped-on-minneapolis/320834161/
  19. Time for me to throw in the towel. Not on the team, though. Enjoy.
  20. Todd Stottlemyre.
  21. Hey, all. The No Fun League doesn't start until Sunday. Can we have fun until then?
  22. Wasn't this supposed to be a fun thread? So serious. Let me tell you how I got these scars...
  23. Estrada hasn't been the same since CHiPS ended.
  24. So get Capps back and offer him to the Nats.
