  1. If Nolasco is going to have a bounceback season, the Tigers offense will be a stern test. I'm optimistically cautious he'll give the team a chance to win.
  2. Concur. / obligatory
  3. The "wacky morning duo" on the news station in Reno couldn't resist a dig the other day when one of them said he had a sore shoulder or something, and the other one opined that he probably couldn't afford to go to the doctor to have it treated "because of Obamacare". Like that's how any of this works on decisions about an individual appointment, particularly for people pulling down six figures. But that's the narrative the station pushes all day.
  4. Even with two one-seeds in the final, this is seriously impressive work. Is the login Ryan341584 Bo Ryan's? Must be inside information.
  5. I seem to recall that Cuddyer plays right field due to deafness in one ear.
  6. That is not what I saw. In two games I watched, he made two difficult plays requiring him to come in for the ball and then throw off-balance. But he also muffed two easier plays requiring lateral movement, overrunning one grounder and I forget what the other was. It seems clear that he has the tools to be a good fielder, but has to put it all together for it to be a reality.
  7. Just a moment ago I changed the spelling in the title to "confident", before I even read through the thread, just because it kind of looked bad on the TD front page as one of the forum entries. I'm not aware that there's been any monkey business before that, and I doubt there would be.
  8. I'm locking the thread to prevent inadvertent edits after the closing date of 4/4. Chief can undo it if he purposely left it open of course.
  9. I guess that's one way to raise the BA and cut down on the SO: just belt everything out of the park!
  10. Now I REALLY want Nunez to be acquired by some other team, preferaby AL, so that we can be treated to an occasional epic battle between the irresistible force and the movable object.
  11. Should be down to three people though, shouldn't it? (I see a tie at the top and both have Duke.)
  12. He was signed to sell tickets.* Purely. All else is added after-the-fact. *Not intended as a straight line leading to him working for Mike Clough, Twins Vice President for Ticket Sales & Service
  13. I've been mainly skipping these projection threads, but will offer a thought that Daniel Ortiz may OPS higher in Rochester than Torii does in Minnesota. There would be some dropoff if he faced major leaguers of course, but the defense in RF would be a little more nimble. Of course Ortiz didn't light the world on fire this Spring, so I would have flunked as GM.
  14. Three 1-seeds make it to the finals. Where's the fun in that? I picked all 16-seeds for the finals. I lose with some flair. / actually I lose with lousy picks
  15. "Other players on the roster who are not necessarily outfielders by trade but can stand out there with a glove include Eduardo Escobar, Chris Herrmann and Eduardo Nunez." Oof.
  16. You're funny and we can't understand you.
  17. Amazing, the difference one comma makes.
  18. Not always. The reverse of that worked on our playground too: "Hey Handsome... no, not you, Horseface."
  19. That might indeed make it easier to hit.
  20. I went to school with a girl named Fan Twins Town Chi.
  21. Hokay, gotta run and fix dinner. TGFL - thank god for leftovers.
