  1. I'm sure another organization will find a way to make him into one, as well.
  2. On this subject, as I left today's game I saw Jim Pohlad in the Legends Club. It took everything inside of me not to say something to him right there. The first thought I would have is "sell the team to someone that wants to win." hen I saw St. Peter going up the steps to the suite level and decided not to waste the opportunity (along with having a couple of beers in me), so I told him "It's time for a new voice to this club." He thanked me and continued up the stairs. Part of me really wonders if these guys get it, and I have to think perhaps acting slightly obnoxious toward them might be what it takes to make them more uncomfortable.
  3. Is Butera available? Or should I start a separate thread for that?
  4. THIS THIS THIS. Quoting this so that anyone that didn't get it the first time can get another chance. I just wish I would have posted it myself.
  5. Being back on the road will also help Gardy get back to his old ways of gaining five pounds a year. I wonder if he took any of his time off to get a little bit healthier than he was in 2014.
  6. I was listening to the conversation during the radio broadcast today about the rules at second base, and how it will force the fielder to keep his foot down longer, which in a sense adds to the risk to the player that they are trying to protect. Why wouldn't it be feasible to add a fielder's bag at second, not unlike what lower levels do at first base? It could be very small, but a protected square for the fielder's foot. You slide directly into it, you're ejected. It still allows the legit slide into the primary bag, with the body to do the takeout, but adds a little time for a reaction.
  7. The Twins starting pitcher picks the jersey color on the day he starts. Except for designated jersey dates, such as Friday home games some years, or Saturday home games other years. End of elaboration.
  8. Did someone summarize the Terry Ryan Fan Q&A? I enjoyed it. It is smaller than it used to be, but my daughter loves being at the ballpark. She's 5, so being able to hit balls in the batting "cage" was a huge deal for her.
  9. I thought when a GM is fired they just bring back the last GM and keep everything the same. Isn't that the way it works everywhere?
  10. Good weather and bump his pension eligibility. How is the fishing in that part of California? This is almost all this decision would be about if Gardy comes back to baseball.
  11. I will guess 86.
  12. I put losses like today on TR for not providing depth off of the bench. Ridiculous.
  13. My theory: Molitor was the other guy in the pictures of Gardy that Punto had. Punto gave said pictures to Duensing.
  14. I'm not sure what the numbers say, but it sure as hell seems like the fear of hitting home runs has disappeared this year. Whether it is because it is different guys hitting home runs or a different message is hard to tell.
  15. I think Terry Ryan may have been a good GM when Tom Kelly was willing to piss anyone off that got in his way of teaching a kid how to play baseball. Gardy certainly didn't have that attitude, and time will tell if Molitor is willing to mow down people that disagree with him. Additionally, the game is so much bigger and complex in so many ways than it was during TR's first rodeo as well.
  16. A beautiful ending to the Mike Pelfrey bitching about not getting a spot in the rotation saga.
  17. This is a nice looking club we have here, isn't it.
  18. I have to say watching him get shelled in his first outing would be quite entertaining, though.
  19. On the bright side, this increases the speed at which this season is another lost season and Buxton and Sano see playing time sooner rather than later.
  20. I believe this presents an opportunity for Molitor to tell Pelfry to blow it out his ass while developing some experience managing a big leage clubhouse.
  21. Has Torii Hunter taken any of the infielders under his wing? I'm not sure we can speculate on anything until we know that.
  22. This is groundbreaking journalism.
  23. I find it so sad that this is worth reporting in a newspaper.
