    I fail to see how anyone has made Gibson a scapegoat. A scapegoat for what? He's been very poor for quite some time now. His upside is pretty much ziltch, unlike Berrios.

    I think what impressed (I use that term loosely) me the most about Gibson last night was his willingness to pitch inside with his fastball. Now it's fairly likely his increased willingness was due to almost nobody in the Sox lineup scaring him much, but it was nice to see him back a few people off for a change. If only he had the jam to do it to better lineups, instead of reverting to Nervous Ned Nibbles.

    Sort of ironic the much fitter Buxton has spent more time on the DL than the overweight guy at 3rd (TJS not withstanding, unless that was weight related).

    Lots of 2+2=5 in the column, like most of the drivel Souhan writes. Pretty much no supporting medical science to back up what he's claiming. Pretty shallow and uneducated piece really, not worth the effort.

    I've found blissful ignorance to be a comfortable position in life for most things. Probably because I live in Canada.

    I do disagree, personally I don't think monuments dedicated to people who were commited to racist ideals should sit in public places. I didn't say your opinion is ignorant, I think people who live in the South who don't understand what these symbols represent are being ignorant. I actually think there is merit to the monuments being preserved and placed in a museum to help teach people about their history.

    I don't care how much of it is on the ineptitude of the players, an MLB manager can't survive play this poor, nor should he.

    If an ordinary Southerner today doesn't see the statues as symbols of slavery and white oppression, then perhaps they should head to the library and read a history book. Ignorance is no excuse.

    I'm sure lots of people in Germany were disappointed to see monuments to the Third Reich taken down, but they still had the sense to do it.
