  1. Geez that Polar Bear looks awfully familar.
  2. No reason you can't do both, and they should. In fact, it makes a stronger argument for them to replace him now. Go into the off season with the manager position already dealt with.
  3. I like Taylor Rogers, he's been great. But those are two awful, awful pitches on 0-2 counts! I don't think a fine is sufficient for that level of awfulness.
  4. That's not what the manual said though. Always follow the manual.
  5. Concur on the rescue dog. My most recent dog is a Lab/Newfie mix, he's 110 llbs so I'm not necessarily recommending you look for something similar considering you live in an apartment. He's the most gentle creature you'll ever come across, with the absolute patience of Jobe around kids and puppies who incessantly try to cajole him into playing. He's also a huge suck, afraid of his own shadow and get this... absolutely hates water, won't go near it. His partner in crime is an 8 llb Yorkie we saved as a puppy from some less than scrupulous people. He barks at anything that moves and acts like a Wolverine on walks behind the security of his large friend. In reality he's more needy that an infant.
  6. Over Pressly? Not sure there's a downside.
  7. SNL ratings just dropped 100 points.
  8. Congrats RB,sounds like you found a keeper.

  10. No disrespect Deduno, I like you and what you contribute to the site, but this whole people want 2/3rds of the roster DFA'd and everything is overwhelmingly negative is a bit of hyperbole. I just see discussion, people have different ideas on things, that's about all. I think that's what makes the site interesting.
  11. Just curious, how does your example qualify as "overwhelmingly negative"? I think this whole negativity thing is grossly exaggerated, it also suggests people don't have a right to their opinions. Instead of framing certain groups as too negative or too Pollyanna, why not just present an argument based on what facts you think best support your point of view. Glancing at the first page of threads, I only see the Pressly one as a thread that started with a negative bent.
  12. More sad news from the music world. 41......sigh. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/music/news/chester-bennington-dead-linkin-park-singer-cause-death-suicide-hanging-dies-age-band-nu-metal-latest-a7851916.html
  13. 10,000th post, and that's what I came up with........ http://gifrific.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Morgan-Freeman-Leaves-Table-with-Food.gif
  14. Score effect is real, in all sports. I don't think it has anything to do with trying but when a team is well up on another, it's not that much of a stretch to say intensity drops in certain situations which lead to things that likely don't happen in a closer game.
  15. Great article, I remember Kintzler when he pitched for the Goldeyes. Him and Jeff Zimmerman were the two best arms I ever saw with the Fish, you could tell they were different.
  16. You're a wonderful parent.
  17. Well done, appears to me you're absolutely correct. Nice call by the umpire. But the Yankees are still cheating SOB's .
  18. Impatience really. This team lost 90+ games 4 years in a row during the last 6 years, followed by a brief reprieve, only to be followed up by losing over 100 the very next year. I don't think very many people around here are suggesting half the roster gets culled. I think a lot are just eager to see the new regime change direction from the Ryan era as quickly as possible. A few things this year have the stink of same old, same old to them and increases the impatience even higher, justified or not. I think the season is turning out trickier than maybe Falvine imagined, I don't think they anticipated being in contention by the 3rd week of July. Instead of being able to properly evaluate a larger portion of the organisation, they are caught somewhat by also feeling the need to stay in contention, something the fanbase definitely wants. Personally, from a player perspective I only have issues with the pen for the most part. My bigger issue this year has been with roster contruction and player usage, which isn't really an indictment of the players themselves, simply the positions many of them have been miscast in.
  19. 44 year old starters, 24 year old under performing SS's at DH, sub .100 hitting rookie paperweights batting 2nd, missed cut-off throwing left fielders, inexplicable bullpen usage, 277 RISP left stranded, pages of moaning game threads. Win the series vs Yankees. I love Baseball.
  20. The key to this inning was not loading the bases with nobody out.
  21. My goodness, what was that young man thinking with that pitch?
