  1. Polanco, Arraez, Dobnak look like locks to me. Need a SP, 2 bench players and Cruz, maybe a bullpen arm. But some of these could be filled from within the organization as well
  2. He should either be the everyday SS or not on the roster.
  3. I am willing to throw out the 2020 performances, but also don’t expect any to get back to their 2019 numbers either. Hopefully, they can all be healthy and have a normal year. Which for Polanco and Garver is to be solid top or middle of the lineup guys , with ok defense. Kepler is a platoon right fielder, and should sit against most lefty starters in favor of Marwin (or Marwin replacement) or Rooker
  4. I won’t comment on the trade, to hard to predict those. 2 million for Puig sounds too cheap, and if you really want to punt at DH, why not Rooker? And why does Marwin coming back never get any consideration, he was a pretty valuable bench player until 2020 came along.
  5. It sure is easy to spend someone else’s money......
  6. The Twins should either sign Cruz or develop the young talent. No reason to sign a position player.
  7. Given how much Marwin has played at positions other than 2b, not sure it is wise to invest several millions of dollars in a guy who has no or little experience at any of them to be his “replacement “.
  8. Not really a replacement for Marwin if he only plays 2b, and maybe a little 3b
  9. It may be time to move on and start over, beginning with not resigning Nelson
  10. If the goal is the best team in 2021, then trading Lewis and Balazovic for Snell AND resigning Eddie and Nelson. Along with adding the best available replacements for Marwin, Romo and May could be a strategy. I don’t see any of these happening (except signing Nelson)
  11. I don’t believe he would sign at $10 million per year and not sure I would go more than that.
  12. No to any extension. Given how the Twins seem to be trending on handling pitchers, wouldn’t the money be better spent on more bullpen options?
  13. Whether it is 8 million or 11 million, it is time to move on from Eddie. Despite all the analytical data, the current core does not appear capable to advance in the playoffs. Eddie fails too many eye tests. Too many terrible at bats, base running gaffes and poor fielding decisions to off set his offensive production. Let Eddie and Nelson walk, use the payroll for a starter or late inning bullpen options. The offense may suffer this year because of it, but the roster needs a little turnover.
  14. “Develop more power “?? If Buxton would use his natural talent and develop some base stealing , walk taking and line drive hitting skills, he would become more valuable to the team than the current version. The Twins have enough 20 homer, 230 average guys in the lineup already.
  15. He fits perfectly into the get 5 innings then run out 3 or 4 relievers strategy that we all love. Why would they not bring him back???
  16. If there is a AAA season it might make more sense to have Rooker and Kirilloff playing full time there , rather than be part timers for the Twins. If no AAA, decisions could be different. If Rosario is not brought back , that opens a spot for one of them, not both. And that also is leaving only one of Cave or Wade on the roster. I think a pretty strong argument could be made that Rosario was the 2nd best hitter over the last two years. So I don’t think it is a fair assessment to say the offense would not lose a beat without him.
  17. Rooker did not look to be even an average fielder. Not sure that is what the Twins need as a 4th outfielder. Also not sure you can project after one start that Kirilloff will be the best hitter in the lineup not named Cruz. I hope they both develop into great major leaguers, but to expect it to happen next year might be a bit optimistic.
  18. Rooker as an outfielder, looked like a DH.
  19. Kirilloff starting in left likely means Rosario is let go. Rooker making the 25 man roster likely means Cruz is not re-signed. I am not saying it is a terrible idea, but on paper the offense would look to be taking a step backwards in this scenario.
  20. My guess is the Twins will sign a couple of relievers, likely at the Clippard level of pay and lower, assuming they keep Rogers. Alcala, Stashsk, Wisler may be tried in the later innings in 2021. And this may be off topic but.......could the practice of running a new pitcher out for every inning, stop?? In this day when a starter is pulled after 5 or 6 innings, teams are counting on 3 or 4 pitchers to all be “on” and available that night. Maybe if Duffey comes in and pitches a quick 8 pitch inning , he could be asked to pitch another inning, instead of automatically going to Romo and seeing why he has that night.
  21. $125 budget is too high, teams are going to be in money saving mode. This will upset the players union. A normal full season is unlikely and no season is a decent chance.
  22. The Rays lost game....based on that, Cash made the “wrong” decision
