I was going to comment on the risk of writing an article that potentially paints the FO in a positive light, but I it seems that I am too late... it looks like the hounds have already been unleashed.

I think teams would be interested in Julien or Miranda for the same reason teams would be interested in Kjerstad. Teams take fliers on players that have strong tools or have had MLB success in the past hoping they can unlock some missing piece.

What is the over/under on the total number of trade deadline articles we are going to see in the by Tuesday? Two so far... I will put the number at 3 and take the over...

I think the SP injuries, along with the continued lack of consistent production at the plate, will turn this team into sellers by the deadline. I had always said that the Twins shouldn't trade any of the Lopez, Ober, Ryan, Buxton, Correa, and Lewis group. I would be close to taking Lewis off that list and adding Jeffers. Not that Jeffers is a world-beater, but solid catchers are not as easy to come by. Everyone else can be had for the right price (including Wallner, Jax, and Duran) Any move the Twins make, buy or sell, will be (at best) a salary-neutral move. Expect more picking over of the DFA list.

The Dobnak signing was fine at the time. Extensive injuries have really derailed his career, we will never really know what he could have been.

People pushing for a move quickly forget that Buxton is a sneeze away from a long term injury, Bader is overachieving, and Kiersey and McCusker are not trusted at this level. Put the brakes on folks

Which was done when this was at the height of public scrutiny and before the complete knowledge of the events came out. This is a lot closer to the Duke lacrosse fiasco than most people would admit. This partially about his clubhouse history, but mainly it is perception. It would open up his past and how MLB handled the situation. The man can pitch. The fact that no one has taken a run at him means really feels more like collusion than anything. Michael Vick was able to rehabilitate his image and personality, who is to say that isn't happening here. Should the Twins sign him? I think there should at least be some vetting and discussions about it. But, like I said, he has been blackballed.

Over the last few years, ownership has shown that money trumps wins. Do not expect any external moves that would increase payroll. Not to hijack the discussion, but I continue to be confounded by the Trevor Bauer situation. The whole SA thing was shown to be untrue by the courts. I understand that he has not been a great clubhouse guy in the past, but the league is littered with bad clubhouse guys. This is not a Kapernick situation (signing Kapernick basically requires an NFL team to build around him). He has publicly stated he would sign for the league minimum. I am shocked a large-market team has not taken a flier on him. That being said, I also understand he has not been signed because he has effectively been blackballed by the league.

Calls to trade Paddack and Ryan earlier in the year are not looking real great right now. SWR and Festa will get a lot of rope. I am curious who the next man up would be should Festa and/or SWR blow up.

Headline aside, it's not like the Twins haven't had an effective long reliever in the past, or is everyone forgetting Cole Sands last year. Rather than pigeonholing Adams into a specific situational role, the Twins will continue to do what every team does: pitch their most effective relievers as much as possible. If Adams is in that group, he will probably pitch multiple middle innings when appropriate, as he is currently best set up for that role.

I have long felt that trading Duran was a viable option. Yes, he has been lights-out this year, but we can't say that about previous years. He has almost always underperformed expectations. So goes the life of a reliever... Unless the Twins are 100% sure Duran is the second coming of Joe Nathan, the Twins should be willing to move him this offseason, especially if a team is willing to overpay and the Twins can fill an area of need (Catcher, 1B)

Sorry, but it is actually the whole tone of the article. I agree that this is newsworthy on a site like this this, but it isn't written in a politically neutral format.

So this is a growing trend in MLB amongst all teams, but the Twins get singled out because what...this is a Twins fans site? I wonder how for down list of concerns this is for the MLBPA? Gotta be near the absolute bottom. Rip the Twins and ownership for lots of things, but this just feels like reaching to find another thing to b**ch about. Players don't like it? Either petition the MLBPA or play better so it doesn't happen to you.

Thank you for taking the time and effort to put all of that out there. There is a lot to unpack in your comments, but the short version of my response is the Twins: 1) Have spent basically all of their high picks in recent years on certain types of players: positional flexible (Lee types) and pitchers. Jenkins was an outlier. 2) Have done a continuously upward trending job of acquiring, drafting, and preparing pitchers for the majors. 3) Know that money will always be an issue until some sort of true competitive and financial balance is worked out between owners and players
