  1. While we are riding through Oz, I'll take a '65 Shelby Cobra CSX1000 Series. (pay no attention to that man - Jim Pohlad - behind the curtain)
  2. Appears to be low level filler fodder and just something to allow the Angels to avoid the claim line. I wish they would have kept Curtiss and dumped Duffey.
  3. Tyler Austin will probably hit 30+ homers this year ............................................... for Kansas City, Detroit or Baltimore.
  4. Baseball America does this every year, and it is more of a prospect prediction exercise than anything. Here is their 2022: C Ryan Jeffers 25 1B Brent Rooker 27 2B Jorge Polanco 28 3B Jose Miranda 24 SS Royce Lewis 23 LF Eddie Rosario 30 CF Byron Buxton 28 RF Alex Kirilloff 24 DH Trevor Larnach 25 SP Jose Berrios 28 SP Brusdar Graterol 23 SP Fernando Romero 27 SP Jhoan Duran 24 SP Blayne Enlow 23 CL Trevor May 32
  5. Lil' Flash has certainly fallen out of favor. Can he figure out AAA in his second go, or does he get added to the pile of failed first rounders? If Kirilloff, Lewis, Rooker and Larnach are all in the starting lineup in 2022, that would be amazing. I doubt the Twins have ever had 4 consecutive first rounders on the same major league field, let alone in the starting lineup.
  6. Hall of Famer? Which Hall of Fame?
  7. I think it's somewhere in the middle. Joe definitely deserves more than a "passing notion", but the retirement ceremony and four bobblehead days goes a bit beyond that. An outsider could easily say that the Twins have no current identity other than being Joe Mauer's old team. It seems the marketing department is certainly leaning that way. I mean, who's the face? Buxton? Can we get a full season of at least above average production at the plate combined with elite defense? Sano? Can he at least be a right-handed Adam Dunn? Berrios? Can he start to pitch well against good teams? I have the most faith in J.O., but it's tough for a pitcher to be the face unless they are truly elite of elite or do something like pitch 10 innings of shutout ball in Game 7 of the W.S. Cruz? Maybe for the second half of 2019, if he isn't on another team by then. Royce or Alex? Need to get at least one MLB PA. After much thought and deliberation, it's gotta be Astudillo.
  8. Yep, still room for a Tortuga ... I'd be torn, as I always root for Skeeta (It's a superstition that, combined with Ben's 100%, I believe leads to me being bit less than others at outdoor summer gatherings)
  9. Not to get off topic, but how about that Brew Crew getting no respect (Hader hatin') at 5 - 5.5 wins behind their more popular division opponents.
  10. Reading this article made me think about the lost causes that were Adam Johnson and J.D. Durbin. Terrible debuts (although less-than-Gonsalves MiLB careers to stand on) followed by no career .... Ironically, the Twins passed on Rocco Baldelli to take Adam Johnson.
  11. Wow, innings and performance-wise, Reed doesn't look so bad right about here. Hope he's healthy in 2019 and is what we thought he was.
  12. This may be correct, but I'm setting myself up to be surprised (like the the Cruz signing), rather than disappointed (like the expectations of what Sano and Buxton would have produced over the last 3-4 years). Adaptive traits and learned behaviors are the only way to survive.
  13. Buxton will probably say no anyway after Controlgate.
