  1. Of course, I'd rather watch Andrew Albers or Chandler Shepherd. I think it will mean that. I don't see Rocco or the FO increasing pitch counts for guys like Ober, Barnes or Jax. In September, maybe Winder or Balazovic could come up, but they don't get to add as many guys anymore.
  2. Maybe the Twins should trade Happ to the Tigers for Holland. Perhaps these old lefties just need another change of scenery, plus we could listen to Holland do Harry Caray impressions.
  3. Hmm ... pay attention to this game or click refresh more frequently on MLBTR?
  4. Maybe they have the same guys in charge of the clock that the Vikings had when McKinnie and Kevin Williams were drafted. If they can blunder into acquiring the baseball version of Kevin Williams, I can forgive and forget quickly. ?
  5. Let's stop being mean to Hansel. It was hot and his tummy was upset. It's all OK now, because Uncle Rocco tucked him in and read him a story.
  6. When a 16 year old can tell her 45 year old manager that he will pay her what she wants, she will work her exact desired hours, will not work with some individuals and is not to be called in, and he does it, the lay of the land in food service industry has completely changed. Some restaurants can't even re-open or at least can't open the dining area and do drive thru only. I'm not sure if benefits expiration in September will change it much. They might not even need to raise the minimum wage, because the workforce will demand it anyway.
  7. Do they really need to move Donaldson to have enough payroll room for pitching? 40 million should be coming off the books from expiring contracts.
  8. Looking at Boston's starters, Pineda may slot in at #2 until Sale gets back into form.
  9. This is a good write-up, and he's an exciting prospect. Adding him to the 40-man is an absolute no-brainer in the off-season at the very latest. Even if Donaldson isn't traded, he's getting older and could probably stand to take up to 25% of his games at DH. Miranda can also spell Arraez and Kirilloff against tough lefties and DH some himself. If the team somehow has zero injuries, then it will be a good problem to have. The likelihood of that happening when you have Arraez, Donaldson, and Kirilloff on your team is virtually zero though. Miranda could also just rake AAA for another year. He's young enough and has three options. I wouldn't call it service time manipulation either, because he is legitimately blocked by one or more players at all his positions right now.
  10. In a lost season, I'd let him keep working through it, but I wouldn't object if he spends August in St. Paul. He does need to be back up in September and playing every day regardless.
  11. Let's say hypothetically that Maeda gets the win tonight. I wonder how many times a pitcher (or any player for that matter) has scored a walk-off run and followed it up with a pitching win the next game.
  12. I just picked up Soto today in FBL when McHugh went on the IL. I guess I should pickup Tyler Alexander tomorrow.
  13. Not attempt to steal with Sano and Garver for one. Nothing he can do about the Rogers injury though.
  14. Good luck, Big Mike, if that was your last start for the Twins.
  15. Glad Larnach got something out of that. Bad luck drop followed by terrible call.
  16. I'll be watching and hoping for a gem from Pineda, so he can bring in the next haul. Philly might be an option with Eflin on the IL.
  17. Unless they are blowing it up, I don't see how this helps the Twins. Peraza doesn't even have 200 PAs at AA, so he likely won't be a cog on a contending team in 2022. Everything you covered on Kepler makes me not want him traded. With known controlled costs of all other outfielders not named Buxton, the Twins could even afford for him to be the 4th outfielder with his contract. You may not sign a 4th outfielder to that contract, but you can play an already signed guy that way when you have the Larnachs, Rookers, Kirilloffs and Celestinos making $600K for a couple more years.
  18. I'm unsure. If they fail to fire Baldelli, then I would change my vote to yes.
  19. Fire Baldelli. If this time of year in this situation isn't the time to see how a guy having a good day on the mound can handle a tough hitter a third time, I don't know what is. Interest in his brand of baseball is waning.
  20. Why not double down and send Chief Wahoo to wardrobe for some winged ears, a leafy crown and a toga? At least let him keep his sh!t-eatin' grin though.
  21. He has 50 major league PAs. At least give him the two months left to adjust to the big leagues. He still has another option, so there's no need to rush into moving him at a low value. If there is room on the 40 for someone like Law or Refsnyder, there is room for Rooker.
