  1. I used to listen to almost all the games. Now, I begin with the Twins but often shop MLB radio for another game -- a specific pitcher, favorite broadcasters or team matchup -- when the Twins start tanking a game or putting on their K-show. I keep GameDay on the Twins game to keep an eye on the boxscore.
  2. Changed that dial to KC/Cleve. Tito was not feeling well, KC staff attended him, and he was taken to the hospital. No further details. History is GI and blood-clotting.
  3. Box seats for Saints, Sat eve, 6p vs Gwinnett. Fireworks, Food Trucks, Keuchel. Boom!

Keuchel confirmed for StP, Sat, Jul 1. Box seats.

  4. He is a filler in low leverage situations at best. Please don't use valuable in the same sentence with 'Pagan.' Misuse of stats to justify baggage. Same stuff Rocco does. Long relief needs to be consistent, predictable. Those are antonyms, not synonyms, of Pagan.
  5. I want to see what he has left in the tank and how crafty he might have become. I never have seen him pitch live and wish to add the notch to my belt. I called in to the Saints business office asking when Keuchel would be pitching. She said, "Hold and let me see if I can find out." About 5 minutes later, "Consensus over here seems to be Saturday nite, Gwinnett. But you know I can't guarantee that?" I said, "You tell Gardenhire I am getting box seats and if Keuchel isn't on the mound, I am coming down after the pig." Professional management/courtesy of an unusual request. ✔︎ Food truck rally and fireworks to follow. We live too well.
  6. Garver DH'ing for Rangers. 0-2, 2Ks. .246.
  7. June's quote of the month. Write it down.
  8. Just flipped off and turned to the Tigers/Rangers game. Can't deal w/GopherballPagan.
  9. Have Milo Hamilton and Ernie Johnson on the Atlanta radio booth. No, that's not right. They were on when I lived in East Central Alabama in the '70s. Tonite it's Jim Powell (former Twins radio in '90s) and Joe Simpson, former Royal and Angel.
  10. This is helpful, thanks. And I would agree, hyperbole can be employed, particularly when Kicuchi was completing 7 inn, kicking the A's collective butt.
  11. Have the Jays/A's game on. Kikuchi pitched 7.0 complete, 100 pitches. Toronto radio booth said Kikuchi's off-season training was pitching 200-300 pitch bull pen sessions, all off-season. Today's 100-pitch effort is a cakewalk for him. Describe a bullpen session for me. How in the heck can his arm take that, playing all year and subjecting it to that kind of wear and tear. TIA, strictly a sandlotter 3rd and 1st baseman. db
  12. 'Atta boy Royce. Appoint him as Batting Coach and can the 3 with titles.
  13. Near collision. Once again, musical chairs lineup lends itself to this stuff, when someone ends up hurt.
  14. Seen on Twins Cities Craigslist. "4th batting coach needed. Preference given to coach who understands hitting singles, and can say it in English and Español. Has size 13 to bury in batter's butt if he fails to catch on. Comfortable with ignoring calls from FO."
  15. This stuff is the best when we have chances to discuss, not argue, face to face. Say over an IPA?
  16. I remember Jim Leyland smoking his Lucky Strikes in the dugout.
  17. I didn't see the praise in the article. Nor was any needed.
  18. I put the radio on in the background and break out the Kindle. Don't have cable so there isn't that temptation. When the Twins take a s*, I listen to see how my favorites are doing (Farmer/Lewis) and listen to opposing radio booth (when they are decent) to learn the other team.
  19. Jim Leyland is in Detroit for the weekend. He does scouting and development for the Tigers. Give me ol' tyme Baseball.
  20. Stick with it. It will be a good ball game. Twins needn't win. Gave that up last Lent.
  21. Good discussion in Detroit radio booth about Tigers approach to MN hitters. Get ahead of them; don't nitpick. "They are swingers; throw the ball, they'll swing." Commenter is former MLB pitcher whose voice I do not recognize. Has worked both series. Let's call it the "Gallo(w)s Guillotine" approach.
  22. Detroit radio booth was raving about him. His FB has 5 mph more velo than when he last pitched.
  23. Actually, he should be assistant, assistant coach. RHernandez DPopkins DShomon Triplication
