  1. Can someone explain why the Twins acquired the catcher with Garcia? Was that part of the price for being able to acquire the pitcher?
  2. Blankenhorn seems like a fair deal. A prospect who is still a good ways from the major leagues.
  3. It might be Vielma the AAA shortstop or Stewart or Park or Garver. Eachhad qualities that could entice the Braves.
  4. We need to do to Hughes what Boston did to Panda today.
  5. Berries was way too tentative. He was squeezed just a bit, but walking Beltran was as unforgivable as Polanco's error. Berrios needs to come back next start attacking the K zone.
  6. Let's see more of that strong pitching from Kohl Stewart. That would be super welcome as the Twins need him and some others to step up their games.
  7. Hildenberger was one of the stars in last night's Twins come from behind victory. He stopped the metaphorical bleeding.
  8. Jeremy, Did the Twins sign any one of their 3 unsigned picks between rounds 11 and 20?
  9. The Royals have been playing very good baseball of late, so I think this series will tell us a lot about whether or no the Twins can continue to win more than they lose. Boston spanked them good, so the Twins need to show that they can bounce back and beat a team on the rise (win the series) like KC. If the Twins cannot handle the Royals, then it could be a long steep slide to the All Star break and beyond the A S game. Go Eduardo Escobar--clean up hitter!
  10. Last year the Twins 3rd round pick was Jackson. This time the Twins could grab Heatherly (lefty) or Enlow. Both are top 30 rated. Either would be a great pick in round three. Basically the Twins could right the WTF ship with some high upside high school players in rounds 3 - 8.
  11. Thanks. I forgot that Heston was on the roster. Fairly forgettable despite his no hitter.
  12. What roster move did the Twins make with Polanco rejoining the team?
  13. I am not bummed out by the selection of Lewis. I too wanted a pitcher for a long time. But, if the Twins do get two high performance high school pitchers at 35 and 38 then it could be a stellar draft for the Twins. They could also nab a College starter in round 3. Last year the Twins selected a lot of high school guys, adding Lewis and at least 1 high school starter at either 35 or 38 means that the Twins have a very deep talent pool at the lower minors and they still have some good prospects in the upper levels. Some might be traded this season if the Twins stay in the playoff picture.
  14. Former #2 draft pick Ryan Eades has lately been pitching, finally, like a second round selection. It would be awesome if he sustains the great starting pitching and becomes a Twins pitching prospect. The Twins sure need starters who can shut down the opposition. Better late than never is what I say about Eades. I hope he has a monstrously successful season
  15. Yes, it was great to see Blankenhorn smacking the ball to good effect today. Also I am impressed that Eades is pitching so well. Up to this point this second round pick has been rather disappointing. I hope there is no jinx on him now.
  16. Yikes! 4 teams lose, and Will starts today for Rochester. Like I said, Yikes. Blankenhorn got off to a good start and then has been super mediocre (pardon the oxymoron) ever since. Injuries to some important prospects have obviously been a significant problem.
  17. If the goal was to preserve the pen, then Wheeler should have pitched the 8th inning. Curtiss in AA ball is a closer, and he has a terrific strikeouts per innings pitched rate. He would have been a better player to add than promoting Rucinski. Heck, they could have added Curtiss and Wheeler to the 40 person roster. They could have outrighted Presley or Belilse or Boshers or Breslin and that would have been ok, really It is time for the Twins to use Rosario, Curtiss, and Melotakis. These guys aren't super young, but the are dealing in the minors. I have more faith in their shutdown ability than I do with usual suspects on the pitching staff of the 25 person roster.
  18. Finally! The Twins play like they have not been playing with runners in scoring position.
  19. 3 walks. The Twins need the big slam(or a single) from Dozier.
  20. Fleet of foot base running by Vargas and Gimenez.
  21. Holy Cow! As Scooter would say. Back to back walks. Can the Twins get that elusive key hit here? Two would be nice.
