    I live nowhere near Minnesota or Cleveland. The game is not on MLB.Com tonight. The blackout policy is crazy. Normally I watch the Twins game on MLB, but this national blackout sucks! I don't own a tv. Oh well.

    Hi Tom, Good question. The 5 players I would have (not necessarily in this order) are: Rosario Escobar Dozier Buxton Mauer I realize a great case can be made for Santana, but he pitches every 5th day and seemed to be more dominant in the 1st half of the season than in the second half. It is a good thing that there are so many Twins players who had large impacts on the success this season. If he had not been traded in late July Kintzler would no doubt be a top 5 Twins player. Perhaps the case should be made that he still should be edging out some on the lists that started this thread.

    How did Escobar not make anyone's list? Truly overlooked contributions from Mighty Mouse--particularly when Sano went on the DL. I suspect he would be mentioned a lot for MVP if you polled the players.

    Just an aside, but have people been noticing that long ago 1st round draft pick Levi Michael has put together a decent season at Chattanooga often playing center field? He has been hitting really well of late. He is likely a 6 year free agent. I wish him the best. Maybe the Twins will try to keep him for the Rochester team next year.

    I agree that the Twins are likely better off with Santana as one of their 5 starters next season. You likely will not get his value in a trade this July trade deadline. Trading some other players--if you can find matches with other clubs--makes more sense to me in terms of improving the team for 2018 and beyond.

    Can someone explain why the Twins acquired the catcher with Garcia? Was that part of the price for being able to acquire the pitcher?

    Blankenhorn seems like a fair deal. A prospect who is still a good ways from the major leagues.

    It might be Vielma the AAA shortstop or Stewart or Park or Garver. Eachhad qualities that could entice the Braves.

    Berries was way too tentative. He was squeezed just a bit, but walking Beltran was as unforgivable as Polanco's error. Berrios needs to come back next start attacking the K zone.

    This is not going to happen as he Twins are in contention for the playoffs, but if they were to offer Santana what do you think the return would be?

    The Royals have been playing very good baseball of late, so I think this series will tell us a lot about whether or no the Twins can continue to win more than they lose. Boston spanked them good, so the Twins need to show that they can bounce back and beat a team on the rise (win the series) like KC. If the Twins cannot handle the Royals, then it could be a long steep slide to the All Star break and beyond the A S game. Go Eduardo Escobar--clean up hitter!

    Last year the Twins 3rd round pick was Jackson. This time the Twins could grab Heatherly (lefty) or Enlow. Both are top 30 rated. Either would be a great pick in round three. Basically the Twins could right the WTF ship with some high upside high school players in rounds 3 - 8.

    I am not bummed out by the selection of Lewis. I too wanted a pitcher for a long time. But, if the Twins do get two high performance high school pitchers at 35 and 38 then it could be a stellar draft for the Twins. They could also nab a College starter in round 3. Last year the Twins selected a lot of high school guys, adding Lewis and at least 1 high school starter at either 35 or 38 means that the Twins have a very deep talent pool at the lower minors and they still have some good prospects in the upper levels. Some might be traded this season if the Twins stay in the playoff picture.

    Designate Belisle--like yesterday. Seriously, he has sucked except for his last outing. Clearly that was a fluke. The Twins have to do better than Belisle.
