  1. Yanks in the opening round, kick their butts to get that off our back. Then, an epic ALCS against Houston. We don't have the pitching to beat them, but then again, Adrianza would never homer off Verlander to win a 1-0 game. So, basically, beat the Yankees and hope for some magic.
  2. I know rosters are expanding, but do Duffey, May, Dyson, and Romo need to be protecting 12-4 leads against the worst team in baseball?
  3. Just think if you had twin relief pitchers taking up one spot on the 25-man. That guy could pitch darn near every day, and the opposing team wouldn't know what was coming.
  4. Gibson seems like he could make a really good swing reliever, so I'd have him there in the ALDS, and it sets up an interesting staff where we can put whoever is pitching best on the postseason roster and have a bunch of different guys who can pitch anywhere in the game, something like: Berrios Pineda Odorizzi Smeltzer Gibson Rogers Romo Dyson Harper Graterol Duffey May/Thorpe/etc I can picture that bullpen being very successful.
  5. Before I read your post, I was thinking: Larnach, Duran for Minor Landon Leach for Ian Kennedy I just don't know how much of an upgrade Minor is from whoever would be our #2-3 playoff starters right now (assuming Odorizzi rebounds and Pineda keeps pitching well. And if those two things don't happen, we probably aren't beating anyone anyway). If we want enough pitching to get past the Astros, Yankees and Dodgers, we'll have to trade most our top 10 prospects, and the bats will have to carry the playoff push anyway. Trading for Minor/Kennedy could make our playoff bullpen something like Rogers/Romo/Kennedy/Gibson/Perez/Harper/Duffey/Smeltzer/(Graterol?) which would give us a fighting chance and we get to keep most of our prospects.
  6. We aren't getting past both the Astros and Yankees in the postseason anyway unless our bats carry us or we give up half our top prospects for pitchers. Of everyone available, only Bumgarner/Greinke would be an upgrade as a starter this postseason anyway, and the stud relievers will cost a lot of prospects. I'd rather have Graterol in the postseason bullpen this year than trade him for a 1-2 year rental, for example. I agree we should not do that for this year, and a minor trade could give us a playoff bullpen of Rogers/Romo/Odorizzi/Ian Kennedy/Harper/Smeltzer/Duffey/Graterol which would be at least interesting.
  7. Some words we may never say again: Luis Arraez went two days on a major league roster without getting a hit.
  8. Thanks Seth! Of course nobody is totally under the radar at TD, but Vasquez and Astudillo weren't really discussed much last year until late. Wells and Wiel (and Arreaz) are my 3 guesses.
  9. Who is an under-the-radar guy in the system you think will make their big league debut this year?
  10. First of all, I love TD, it allows me to feel like I'm part of a Twins community even though I've moved to California. And yes this is my first ever post, and these are just ideas. 1. For people who may consider writing but don't know what to write about: create a running list of things to write about, and allow people to 'check out' the topics. If they don't write it, they lose their check out privilege after x number of days. 2. Adopt-a-prospect: why didn't that work out? Maybe add auto-email reminders to adopters, and add a place on TD adopters can go with links to places they can get info. 3. For people who may love to do an interview with a prospect but don't have contact info: get a list of twins prospects who are willing to be interviewed, when they can do it, and make a connect. This obviously has the potential to go sideways, but I'm sure an acceptable accountability guideline could be found. 4. Maybe a twitter feed connection to all the prominent twins journalists? and/or a permanent location for finding other twins content. 5. Use events to make some money and pay writers more using that. People have no issues paying for things to do. Kid friendly stuff focused on baseball, trivia nights, beer pong tournaments, Joe Mauer and Byron Buxton lookalike contests, dunk tank and kissing booth for winners of lookalike contests, etc. 6. Start promoting Franken and Klobuchar for president and see if the Russians buy TD ads to promote Trump. Then use the rubles to pay bloggers. 7. A permalink area for long-long-long-running topics. Have you been on the TWolves realgm site? They have these and it's interesting and seems to work. For example, a Gonsalves vs. Romero or Buxton vs. Sano thread could go on for a decade.
