  1. Is Buxton back? No updates on MLb. I think today is his expected day to be back???????
  2. I wouldn't go there yet. The Twins MO is to replace the other coaches and that seems to have never worked. I would go higher and let Rocco go. He calls the game right? Tells the hitter when to swing and when to not? I am not 100% sure but letting Rocco go could force a culture change. IMO they need a coach who has a clear understating of statistics but does not call the game solely based on them.
  3. Pitchers is the only position chosen correctly and hope one of the Twins is a top choice. Maybe even a starter. My point was the players we consider "All Stars" aren't even there. Even a popularity contest should bring them at least in the top 10.
  4. The Twins have only one player on the MLB AllStar leaders and that is Joey Gallo 9th of 10 on first base. How can that be a play-off bound team. And I do realize it is more of a popularity vote, but no Buxton or Correa or Polanco?
  5. If the hitting coach goes then Rocco should as well. I watched the Toronto vs Houston game and the managers knew how to manufacture runs and they called good games for the pitchers as well. It was nice to watch. I love Buxton but he is not a good or even average DH. They desperately need a Nelson Cruz like player at DH and in front of the players with above average OBPs. It sucks not having a player with a good chance of hitting a HR. They need a good stable #5 hitter. It seems lately the 1 - 3 hitters can’t get on base and more often than not they strike out. I would say it is the most boring line-up ever constructed. They are almost dead last in stolen bases another exciting part of baseball.
  6. The FO just makes too many mistakes. It could come from the very top that has them get rid of good players before they have to pay them. Sounds ridiculous I know! Berrios was my favorite player in a LONG time, He plays to win and is devastated by his results last year. I think he is coming back and will be at least and All Star by next year if not more. Opinions will vary on that BUT we have yet to see what we got back and not sure we ever will. Hicks was traded to make room for Buxton but with his unforeseeable injuries we would have been better with Hicks for a few more seasons (debatable), but we got a great big goose egg back. Arraez HUGEST in a long time. He would affect every game the pitcher we got back even if a #1 Cy Young winner only plays max 2 games a week or 3 games in 2 weeks. This is going to be another Big Pappi for us. Kepler why they keep him is unexplainable Time to see what they have with Wallner and not just one game, the rest of the season would be fine by me. Lewis almost had a life changing play last week. I hope he doesn't have long term effects from this. Correa: Did the other 2 teams see something the Twins FO didn't? Buxton: CF or bust! Catching, LF, 2nd and 1st are "okay"
  7. We are 9th in the AL and would be almost 5 games out of the Wild Card. All of the ALC teams are way down in the Wild Card standing it is almost pathetic
  8. They seem to make the coaching changes in the wrong place (hitting coach, bench coach, pitching coach) over and over again with no results. Time to move it up a level if they want to try to salvage this season.
  9. I have seen other Managers fired during the season and I do hate for anyone to lose their jobs. Just saying it seems like we are in desperation now over some of the decisions made. This is just my opinion and you don't need to be so snarky. First place in the ALC is not much to hang your hat on and the way the last few weeks have went we may not be there for long
  10. I hate for anyone to lose their job but Rocco should have been fired after yesterday’s game. Ownership needs to show Minnesota fans that they care about the fans. These boys need a tough coach to get them in line and the players need to know playing time is not guaranteed. The media article headlines need to change. They focus on pitchers. Yes allowing 7 runs is not good but the Twins putting up a glaring goose egg should have been the headline. How many games have the hitters given our pitchers a lead so they can relax a bit. WHY DID LEWIS SIT OUT especially with Buxton out. WHY IS KEPLER still on the team. I seriously think the AAA team could beat the MLB team. Whoever made the decision to send Waller down should also be fired. The person responsible for the Arreaz trade should also be fired.
  11. That is the most disturbing factor in the last week. Absolutely NO WAY should Wallner have been sent, down. It is like a slap in the face and would make me want to get away from being part of the Twins team. Kepler needs to be moved to the bench or let go right now. Wasted at bats for what should be an offense position. The games in the last week were fun to watch (I got to see one on AppleTV and another on Fox9). They were for the most part competitive and we got a glimpse into the future. When Correa and Buxton are healthy and I mean healthy, not just hanging on by a ligament they should be a a place in the lineup where the worst hitters play until they can prove otherwise and they should be told the bench isn't that far away.
  12. It would probably be better if they were upfront so fans (who pay a large part of their salaries) were honestly updated so we can set expectations. Seems most likely he won’t play any position other than DH for the rest of his career. Or at least be clear on his health (knee injury will heal and when or worse the chance of it healing is xx%). The fans would or should not have to endure this extreme frustration and move on.
  13. Front Office: Correa signing. I think they missed seeing what the other 2 teams saw. Front Office: Not being forthcoming on the whole Buxton issue, we deserve to know more. Last thing I heard is they would start letting him be in the field in May. If Buxton is the Twins DH for the next 6 seasons it is going to be detrimental to the team. I don’t ever see him being above average or maybe even an average DH. I think they had to see this coming before they signed him to his new contract Front Office: Trading away Arraez. Hopefully the trade evens out but very disappointing that they refuse to spend on a top tier pitcher. Not convinced yet that Lopez will be top tier but too early to judge Front Office: Berrios trade. I know Berrios wanted a new team and would have left. We have yet to see anything from the players we got back. Think they were too hasty in this trade. Rocco: For continuing sending Kepler out day after day. He should be a bench player if even that. Rocco: No intuition, just playing by stats.
  14. Funny but so true at least for me. That and the news of potentially being able to watch games again made my week!
  15. Except for Arraez and Urshela! Kind of kidding but if .265 is acceptable at that salary (he is 11th in salary) he would rank 72nd in avg and 89th in RBI's.
  16. I will gladly pay $20 a month to see all games. Had Dish, once I realized Bally's wasn't coming back went with YouTube TV and really like it. I also have Hulu, Netflix and Paramount+ and AppleTV. Add an MLB subscription and it is still cheaper than Dish. So my $162 a month to Dish is still much lower
  17. Probably mentioned but I am not too anxious for Correa, Buxton or Kepler in the line-up. I liked the last game against Houston and they seemed to come alive after the above 3 left the game.
  18. For me it is not a fascination of pushing but more a chance of winning the game. Going to the Twins bullpen is often a disaster.
  19. They have coaches in the big leagues to work with him on defense right? He is not going to get the experience need to improve his defense in AAA?
  20. To be honest I don't know but taking a pitcher on a roll out of the game before the 7th inning is ridiculous. I guessing their is a statistic out their that show often injured pitchers with average innings played and number of pitches thrown. I think the player should decide how they are feeling at the time. If they say good to go for heavens sake let them go. I think Rocco panics too soon and doesn't give our great starters a chance to get out of a jam.
  21. I bet they are both thrilled to get a chance on a contending team or at least not the Twins who IMO will never spend what is needed and I question their ability to see a good player.
  22. With the right coaching I think they can improve their defensive weaknesses but doubt that would have happened here. That trade really hurts!
  23. If they released him and someone picked him up would that team take on his contract. Is their a team that would possibly do that? If so that would be a win-win, Kepler may do better on another team and stop the almost automatic out for the Twins? Did they maybe learn a team friendly deal isn't always the best? I really believe his is done and Wallner has earned his spot. Right???
