Teflon Verified Member Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 Reasons to be optimistic about Liriano on the mound today: 1.) He will be fresh. In his three starts he's only thrown 74, 91 and 76 pitches. 2.) Only two of the 22 hits he's surrendered have been homeruns. 3.) His mound opponent, Jeff Niemann, is also 0-2 and has also failed to pitch past the 5th inning yet. 4.) Francisco has gotten over 5 runs per game of run support from the Twins this year compared to only 3.8 last season.Outlook: A modest bounce-back game from him today.

May I add a couple more items to your list? (Rhetorical question cuz I'm adding them anyway). 5.) his ERA will not stay at 11. That means he is due for some real good starts to get is ERA down around 5. It's the only way it gets to 5. 6.) I dropped him from my fantasy team after his last start. Fantasy players everywhere understand what happens to a player after you drop them.
Teflon Verified Member Posted April 26, 2012 Author Posted April 26, 2012 Despite their 5-14 record, the Twins are only 5 and a half games out of first. They could easily be 9 or 10 out.
Twins GFP Verified Member Posted April 26, 2012 Posted April 26, 2012 There is a good chance he won't be hit by lightning while standing on the mound. Sorry, that's the best I got.
Teflon Verified Member Posted May 1, 2012 Author Posted May 1, 2012 Today's ray of sunshine: In a scene reminiscent of Waiting for Guffman, Phil Mackey has reported that a "person in the know" has said that Francisco Liriano will be scouted by at least one interested MLB club tonight.
Gernzy Verified Member Posted May 1, 2012 Posted May 1, 2012 I think we'll win tonight and Liriano will get the W. The score might be 11-8 but it's a win
