mikeee Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 We're not alone in last anymore... lol
Ultima Ratio Verified Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Just to show how meaningless wins are for pitchers, Jeff Gray picks up the W with one pitch. Dumbest stat ever.
Mr. Ed Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Huge hit off a lefty by Parmelee. Also huge pickup at bat by Carroll. Casilla is a wreck at the plate.
one_eyed_jack Verified Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 That was great! How's about, oh I don't know, maybe 87 more of those this year? (It's not even tax day yet. As a fan, I reserve the right to focus on the possible over the likely at this point.)
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 As I posted on another board, I feel like we just won the World Series. I was seriously afraid of oh-for-April.

Land Of 10,000 Beasts Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Willingham is on pace to hit 97 home runs this season!!! I'll be happy with 40, however.

hosskartrite Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Early returns on Willingham have been very nice. Nothing cheap about his home runs when he makes good contact. And the best part is he doesn't have a mental block about hitting them at Target Field like some of the teammates seem to.

Casilla is a wreck at the plate. ship him to AAA and bring up dozier & let him bat 9th and get his hacks in agaist MLB pitchers, it can't be any worse than casilla....Carroll @ 2b & Dozier @ SS Early returns on Willingham have been very nice. Nothing cheap about his home runs when he makes good contact. And the best part is he doesn't have a mental block about hitting them at Target Field like some of the teammates seem to. keep pulling the ball and blasting HRs...maybe Mauer will pick up on the fact its ok to pull for power....
danicamariB Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Wow! Twins win! Everybody wins.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 I'm buying my tickets for the World Series right now! As long as we don't face Baltimore any more.
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Willingham crushed that. Wow. Pull hitters wanted at TF! Also, good for Jamey Carroll to make some of these people around here, um, shut up.
spideyo Provisional Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Also, is Torii gonna be able to see straight this morning after that dive into the wall?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Sorry, with all respect to Hunter but that was cosmic karma that he face-planted himself into the wall after the ridiculous comments he's been making lately.
James Verified Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 It's nice to see the Twins finally string some hits together. As soon as the ball came off of Willingham's bat, I (as well as probably everyone else) knew it was gone. He absolutely crushed that thing.
nokomismod Verified Member Posted April 12, 2012 Posted April 12, 2012 Fun game. I have to admit I was a little worried in the 9th with the Final Countdown not because I have no confidence in Capps, but because we needed that win so bad.

This is above and beyond expected, but we should probably keep in mind that there will be stretches where he goes 0 for 12 with a bunch of strikeouts to balance out days like this. But that's a trade-off I'm absolutely willing to make...just think if we had more than one guy in the lineup really trying to attack the ball like he does. Happy about the win, if only because this was going to snowball if they didn't get an early victory. The schedule coming up is absolutely brutal.
