So they should max out their outfield defense.

I don’t think that’s Sarcasm… an outfield including Larnach and Wallner is not a serious outfield, especially when their second or third best hitter is also a much better outfielder and all of their top prospects are outfielders.

I'm hoping for better defense imminently form Jenkins Rodriguez Martin and Buxton.

Marco Raya has never been good, it doesn't matter how he was developed.  He's only been hyped.  Been fighting that hype since it's first appeared.  Twins blew that draft, they needed to hype someone.

Prielipp would be a dominant lefty reliever, and that's probably where he should be, based on his injury history.  I fully expect him to break down in the bigs due to "overuse" relative to anything he's done before.  My wild-a$$ guess is that the Twins would be better off in the long run sending him down and letting him get his innings somewhere there's not pressure to win.  He has NOT had enough of a ramp-up to handle what he's doing now.

Zebby is a starter, and this is the make or break year for that.  If they move him to the pen as something to try this year, they're wasting the talent and pitches and deserve what their rotation looks like going forward.

I don't see how you can say they are developing starters when no AAA pitcher is permitted to go more than five innings. I'd say, rather, that EVERYONE is groomed to be a reliever. The Twins' approach seems to be that the most important thing for building stamina is rest, lots and lots of rest. Taj Bradley, developed by Tampa, routinely goes over 100 pitches. NO Twins-developed pitcher gets near that number.

Both Jax and Varland were tried out as starters prior to converting to the bullpen.  Jax was only given one year as a starter before going to the bullpen.  Varland spent parts of three years as a starter before transitioning to the bullpen after coming back from an injury in 2024 and found his niche.  Only Duran was converted to a reliever in the minors.

Duran was converted to relief when he was called up to MLB. He was still starting in the minors; 2021 was the last time he began a season in the minors and he started in 4 of his 5 outings. Couldn't stay healthy. Made the Twins out of spring training in 2022 as a reliever. He literally had 1 minor league appearance in "relief" and it was a piggy-back outing where he threw 4 1/3 and finished the game. That's not a minor league reliever.
