Pitchers, particularly the bullpen, are walking a tightrope because they don't have much talent. 94 mph fastballs are substandard these days and that is about all most of these guys can produce.

Taking starting pitchers who threw 94 MPH and adding 3 MPH to their velocity in relief  used to be this team's specialty. 

Now they aren't even bothering with that route; they're just trading for low-end and signing DFA'd relievers who are already throwing it as hard as they can. I seriously can't understand what this organization is thinking. There were a lot of things that weren't working the last half decade for this club, but why did the stop doing the things that WERE working?
