Doesn't seem to be a fit considering that until last year the Twins pen and rotation had been really solid for about a half decade because the one thing the pitchers just about all had in common was decent command.

But I guess then the Twins went and threw a curve ball during the draft last year picking many pitchers who didn't fit their past profile due to command issues.

Twins have shown interest* in Dominguez

* - briefly, a month ago

The fact that this even registers as reportable information tells you everything you need to know about the state of this organization's offseason.

Get rid of Duran and replace him with an older, worse, likely more expensive version of Duran - I can't understand why anyone would ever doubt their stated intention to compete in 2026

Today would be a great day for the Twins to trade Larnach to the Padres for Marinaccio and sign Kopech and Coulombe.

Also call Joe, tell him you’re sorry and give him the $500k, FFS.

The payroll would still be under $100MM and the Pohlads could continue to afford to have nice things.

Seems like a random choice of waiver-wire-level relief help.  He had a productive 10.2 innings this past season with the Padres, coupled with very unimpressive results in more extensive duty at AAA.  Do you have a deeper insight you'd like to share about the pitcher?

Larnach is unlikely to net us much but Marinaccio came back from an ACL and looked sharp towards the end of 2025.

A former Yankee - in his three seasons in the Bronx, Marinaccio went 6-5 with a 3.22 ERA, 1.186 WHIP, 10.8 strikeouts per nine innings and a 1.8 WAR.

I'm not having any luck finding news about a knee problem.  Looking at his transactions page I see he got optioned to the Arizona Complex League during September.   Could this be the "ACL" he came back from?

He was optioned and then recalled about 5 times in 2025, his stints in the majors always being for just a few days at a time.  He turned 30 last July and as yet hasn't really established himself.

Sorry, I don't mean to make this sound like some kind of hill I would die on; I'm eager to cash in Larnach for something.  But Ron Marinaccio  looks more like someone to wait to find (again) on the waiver wire, than to trade for.

Sounds good I would be happy to hear other names of interest.

Larnach to the Rox for Vodnik is another idea I’ve mentioned on other posts.

The front office needs to do something about this bullpen.
