Unlike the twins, maybe they didn't want to move him back and forth.... fangraphs still thinks he's a catcher. Fwiw. This season Seattle has started Randy Arozarena in left field in all but four games. The 2025 All Star remains under team control for one more year. Mike Sixel 1

This season Ford has played 61 games at catcher and 15 at designated hitter. Ah, misread the MLB bio and missed that it said he did last year. Good catch, thank you.
SwainZag Community Moderator Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 I haven't read any comments other than the OP, but all 3 are very much pass. Unless the Twins are getting back a top end prospect plus.....Ryan shouldn't be going anywhere. A good offer doesn't get it done. Joe Ryan is at his absolute peak value wise. Age wise, performance wise, contract wise. Any team that wants him should and will need to overpay. On the open market he is a $25+ a year guy. If the Phil's want him, the talks start with Painter. If the BoSox want him, the talks start with Mayer or Anthony. That's not being biased, that's what elite, controlled starting pitching costs, and is why Joe Ryan will be a Twin next season. Steve Lein Twins Daily Contributor Posted July 30, 2025 Posted July 30, 2025 Yeah, there isn't a single guy in any of these deals who is a good enough prospect to get a conversation on Ryan started. Is there even a top 50? Absurd these are "can't refuse" offers. I think they are all far more on the "can" side of refuse than "can't." Ford maybe is top 50 guy? I know that's a need position for the Twins, but any conversation with Ryan needs to start with someone who is a consensus top 25 guy, in my opinion. Chris Hove 1
