Major League Ready Verified Member Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 Below is a ranking of Twins players wRC+ over the past year. (2nd half 24 & 1st half 25) It seems unwarranted to be real down on Wallner. Keep him away from LH pitching and he should be fine. I do wonder about his stance and swing for that matter. It's easier for me to have confidence in Larnach. He has good mechanics and a nice compact swing. Hopefully, they are going to have some good OF options by this time next year or sooner. I am hoping to see two or three guys among E. Rodriguez / Jenkins / Martin / McCusker & GG make the OF construction a real strength. tony&rodney Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 I find the comments on Wallner interesting, particularly those that trumpet him as a top 20 or better outfielder. This makes me wonder how valuable another team sees Big Matt. While I have zero idea how front offices view a player like Wallner, I did wonder if Pittsburgh would trade Bubba Chandler in an exchange for Matt. FWIW, I don't believe Falvey will move Wallner, which means those who think highly of Big Matt are in line with the organizational thinking.
