glunn Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 For years I have been hoping that Pettitte would grow too old to dominate the Twins. I am hoping that such time has come and that the Twins will score early and often tonight then wear out the Yankees bullpen. I am also glad that Mauer is getting a day off -- I think that he needs one.
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 It's so weird to see a yankees lineup without Jeter in it.
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Gardner has really overachieved into being a pretty solid player.
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Hey Chief, how's the heat down there?
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Hey Chief, how's the heat down there? The heat's in fine shape, thank you.

Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 There must be some mistake. Baseball Ref shows Cano hitting .287. I've never seen him make an out.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Shouldn't Pettitte be in bed by 8:00 eastern?
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 *sigh* Half an inning and still in the game. Now we just have to overcome the powerful stare of Andy P.

glunn Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 From CBS -- Pettitte, 41, has lost three straight outings with 12 runs allowed over 19 2/3 innings with 16 Ks. He'll look for the record and his first win since June 8 when he takes the mound Monday at Minnesota. Please let's get to this guy before he builds a rythm.

CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Gardy will not be finishing this game. Maybe he will
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Gardy has to intervene because Morneau's never had to argue a I-beat-it-out call
Beezer07 Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I'm not even mad about that call. That's how bad it was...not even worth getting mad about because everyone on the planet knows it was wrong.
CairoCrown Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Is there a baseball equivalent of the NBA's "Ball don't lie?"
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Yankee broadcast pronounciation...Par-MA-lay.
glunn Community Moderator Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 That was a key walk. The more pitches Pettitte has to throw now, the less likely he will be to find his Twins killing mojo later.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Yankee broadcast pronounciation...Par-MA-lay. I just call him Chumlee
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 D'ya suppose, when Gardy had to scratch Willingham, he put Carroll at third and Plouffe at DH just to avoid the embarrassment of having to submit an MLB lineup card containing "Carroll, DH" on it?

drjim Provisional Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Clearly out. http://cjzero.com/gifs/MorneauOutYankees1st.gif
Guest USAFChief Guests Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Check Fangraphs. I think they calculate it differently. Weird. I checked Fangraphs, and there's no reference to a "Robinson Cano" anywhere. It's like he doesn't exist. Must be a backstory there or something.
