Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 We could have used your humor tonight. Even a week in Hawaii with Olivia might not be enough to erase the putridness of tonight's game. I don't like missing games... I always feel like I'm missing something... Even if it doesn't go well. When I miss games... It's almost always because I'm on a local ball diamond. Depending on when we finish tomorrow... I may also miss tomorrow nights game. I'll check in the morning to see if the sun rises again. I'll send you a text if it does because I will see the sun before you do.
Bark's Lounge Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Even good Bullpens implode every once in awhile but I am a little concerned about Burton. Didnt see what happened tonight but I've seen him lately and the box score suggests its getting worse. Yeah, nothing good to report on the Burton scene.. He was good last year - and was good until the last 2 weeks or so of this season. I have not been able to see all of his crumby outings as I am in conflict with my wife about TV privileges. Housewives of Orange County won tonight. I'm not sure if last year's Burton wash a a flash in the pan or if the Twins using him often as the main set-up guy day in and day out has scuffed his shine. I do not think he should be our high leverage 8th inning guy anymore, or at least for the time being. I really don't think we have that high leverage set-up guy anymore. This may be the start of the Twins paying the price for their awful starting pitching in the beginning months of the season. It appears the bullpen is overtaxed and in all reality coming back to earth. P.S. My wife is upset with me that I let it be known that she likes the "Housewives" series on BRAVO.

If she can't watch Housewife TV proudly and with conviction... Tell her she must pass the remote to more dedicated hands. PS... Let me know if that works... I don't think it will. But if it does I'll try it on mine. If you don't mind being the Guinea Pig.

johnnydakota Verified Member Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 2.5 yrs of "but there were a couple of bright spots" doesn't do much for me. Only thing left is to make a copla wet spots =)
