Fans looking to attend as many Twins games as possible at Target Field this season without emptying their wallets can start planning their days and evenings in the sun. On Monday, the Twins announced that the fan-favorite bargain ticket pass is back for 2025, this time with a bonus: it includes the Home Opener.

This year, fans who buy the Twins Pass will have access to 81 home games. In the past, the Twins had included access to almost every home game, even weekends and holidays. Never before, though, has the pass included Opening Day, which this year is on Thurs., Apr. 3. Fans who buy the pass can watch the game from Target Field's indoor and outdoor social spaces, anywhere they can find space. Twins fans also have the option to upgrade on a game-by-game basis into select seat locations.

I've bought the Twins Pass every year it has been offered, and used it to go about 60 games each in 2022 and 2023. I have always been able to find somewhere to watch the game—except for Brewers games or other special events like Joe Mauer's special honors, which are exceptionally packed. Home opener attendance is usually highly weather-dependent, but in recent years, it has typically not sold out due to cold weather (and, in 2022 and 2023, postponement to the next day). Fans wanting to use their Twins Pass on Opening Day should have no problem finding somewhere to catch the game—though if it's cold, hopefully it's in the sun!

Here is the cost breakdown for the "Twins Pass":

  • Full Season (all 81 games, including the Home Opener, through Apr. 2) at a one-time, all-in price of $324 ($4 per game).
  • Monthly Package (80 games, through Apr. 4) at a monthly price of $59, plus a one-time $5 fee (the monthly price increases to $69, plus a one-time $5 fee, for those who purchase a Twins Pass between Apr. 5 and May 5, with plans covering May through September; beginning May 6, Twins Pass is $79 per month, plus a one-time $5 fee, and covers June through September).

Twins Announce Nelly as Postgame Concert Headliner
It's getting hot in herre at Target Field. The Twins recently announced that Nelly is the headliner for the free postgame concert on Fri., Jul. 11. Thus continues the Twins' pattern of scheduling headliners who appeal to millennials' nostalgia, with past hip-hop performers including T-Pain and Flo Rida. The Twins have also hosted postgame country concerts, and will do so again this year, featuring an as-yet-unannounced artist on Fri., Aug. 15.

Nelly will perform a full-length show approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the 7:10 p.m. game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Everyone with a ticket to the Twins game is invited to join the show, and fans can move seats after the game to sit and stand by their friends. Fans can also purchase a VIP package that includes a ticket to the game and a Field Pass for the concert, enabling especially enthusiastic Nelly heads to stand on the infield dirt to watch the concert. The postgame concerts have been one of the Twins' best fan experience inventions in recent years. They provide incredible value and bring fans out to Target Field who might not otherwise attend a game. The concerts are always very well-attended; I suspect Nelly Night may sell out.

That Twins Pass is a sweet deal at $4 per game. I always wonder when I see the complaints about how expensive it is to attend Twins games if they know about the pass? I understand that you would need multiple passes to bring a family.

If I were single with a less busy schedule, I'd be all over purchasing the Twins Pass. I have a Choice Membership and have to admit I'm a bit upset that they expanded the Twins Pass to include the home opener. I don't want to be a hater, it's just that the home opener option was one of the few benefits of the Choice plans over the Twins Pass.

What family has 81 open days on their calendar to attend Twins games? A family is going to get to maybe one game a month. They're not buying a season pass for $324.

To include the home opener in the Twins Pass may signal that tickets aren't selling real well.  Are they still limiting the other April home games to just lower bowl again?

That was my thought as well- maybe tickets not selling as well coming off of a disappointing season. Great point about upper bowl- I haven't seen them say anything about closing the upper level for April, so to my knowledge they aren't doing that- unless they haven't announced it yet. I was a big fan of that- they didn't enforce any seating in the lower deck. I'll get the Twins Pass again, and already got Opening Day tickets with a group, but this is a nice little extra perk

It's a really great deal for young people and definitely a part of their goal to get more of them out to the ballpark- postgame concerts, Twins Pass, happy hour deals etc. It seems the Twins Pass makes getting actual season tickets not really make financial sense- Twins pass is basically the same thing, though I know STH have some extra perks. Even the flex plans are super expensive.

For possible reference, my nearest team, the Reno Aces, just announced a similar pass that admits you to the outfield grass seating area, for $1 a game across the entire season, except that the July 4 game is excluded.  So yeah, I'd say you are reading the tea leaves correctly for the Twins.  These teams understand the concept of variable/demand pricing.

From a marketing/messaging standpoint, maybe the Twins would be wiser to keep up pretenses and exclude Opening Day anyway.  Not sure whether I'm kidding about this or not.
