What happened to the '91 game 7 ball?

Yahoo Sports had a piece about the attempts to track down the ball that Kirk Gibson hit off Dennis Eckersley nearly 25 years ago. That made me wonder about the ball Gene Larkin hit to win the world series. I thought I remember hearing a while back that the Twins never recovered the ball.

Naturally, the moment was so exciting nobody thought about picking up the ball. But the ball obviously was picked up by somebody. I may be mistaken, but I don't think the Twins have a clue where the ball is, but I'm sure they would love to have it. I'm not sure it would get much money on the market simply because one would never be able to prove it was the actual ball.

I've got it. I'll sell it to the highest bidder. And to anybody who matches that price. Or comes within 10%.:)

Seriously, no clue, but am curious about it myself now.

Let me find out from Geno tommorrow and I'll get back to you guys on it. I'm not sure if he'll know either though.
