I would dispute that there is a black hole at second base. Castro has done better than just fine there and from what I've seen he is a decent to good fielding second baseman. Bringing up Lee or recall

They don't need him playing better than Castro, they need him playing better than Farmer. Castro's best trait is playing all over the field.
