Wouldn't we just laugh... If Clete hits .350 the rest of the way and he keeps the CF job.

 

Some day Chief will look back, shake his head, and say "I can't believe I said Thomas was just a replacement-level ball player with no future." Maybe.

Anyone living in Chicago and cheering for the Twins and not the White Sox ( I won't even mention the Cubbies) is aces in my book.

 

Anyone living in Chicago should bring snacks at all times for traffic jams. I'd actually keep a small frigerator in my car.

Actually, I think Clete has fixed his swing and could be a valuable chip at the deadline. A year ago I would have punched myself in the face for writing that.

I always check traffic before leaving and adjust my route accordingly. Although living as close to work as I do I don't need my car too often.

Selling his soul... Can't be discounted... Think about it... Here's what had to happen for Clete to start CF for the Twins.

 

1. Hicks had to get hurt

2. Mastro had to get hurt

3. Wilken had to get hurt.

4. Benson had to be released.

5. Boggs had to be released.

6. Richardson had to be off the 40 man.

7. Doumit, Willingham, and Arcia had to be slow.

8. Revere and Span had to be traded.

9. And Clete himself had to still be on the 40 man after last year.

 

Looks like a soul could have been lost already.

I can't believe people have jumped to the Clete Thomas bandwagon so quickly.

 

It's a nice summer evening, watching the pennant races isn't happening yet, no hockey tonight, basketball is played by automatons- why not cheer for Clete? If I had to bet, I'd choose "pumpkin at the stroke of midnight", but I'd rather hope he becomes a good major leaguer for the Twins.

 

I'd rather he became Dominic Brown, though.

Excuse us, we haven't seen a 4-4 night by someone other that Mauer since 2008.

 

I liked Clete when he was kicking our ass as a Tiger.

I'm not saying don't cheer for him; I'm not saying don't enjoy his night and hope he continues to do well; but some are thinking he's a legit starter ... for that I need more to evaluate.

Yeah... Pretend you are Clete's mom... His at bats start mattering a lot more when you do.
