I thought that's what Churchill called Italy

Italy has never been a part of the Twins bullpen. I'm fairly certain.

Sure would be nice to pick up a couple insurance runs here.

I just can't get behind the contact play unless the guy at third is at least as fast as Castro/Martin/Buxton. Julien has 0 chance to score if its at anyone

This times a million. Just running into an out

Tom Kelly said that Jeff reardon was his ninth inning guy. Ninth inning, he gets the ball. You still have to get 6 outs whether you use Duran in the 8th or 9th

Nothing like a 11-game winning streak to dampen the enthusiasm for a little camaraderie.

Yes, well, what we’ve discussed 🙂

You live in Chicago. It could have turned out worse.

I could live with a White Sox fan in the family before a Cubs fan … I think. That’s a difficult hypothetical

Depends on if you think the bottom of the other team's batting order is pretty much the same as the middle.

But in the 8th inning its batters 3, 4 & 5, possibly bigger threat than the bottom of the order in the 9th.

You were wise not to marry Mrs Ash, then.

Well, this lineup isn’t exactly the Red Sox of 10-20 years ago

Well, as lovely as Mrs. Ash is, she’s not my type 🙂

The middle of this lineup, though, has had some success against us, so … I think it still makes a difference. But, it’s all in the players’ hands

That's why they got Margot! Awesome play

Ummm.... looked to me for a moment he was on the verge of overrunning it. 😀  Gonna take more that one play for him to win me over.

My thought in looking at the Red Sox lineup the last two days is how top-heavy they appear to be. Using a somewhat lesser reliever for the ninth could make sense.

As in, Sands?

Good opportunity for Sands. I like it.

Short leash, though?
