Nothing like a HUGE dose of false hope offered up by the Chicago White Sox.  Can't wait to get back to reality after this series.

These games count too, thankfully.

And to be fair…KC, DET, and CLE have all built their current records with the benefit of having played one, if not two, series already against this club.

KC has won 3 games against +500 teams…CLE 6.

Just like the stock market…it won’t bounce until everyone has sold!

I don't disagree that KC and Detroit probably aren't going to stay above .500 and Cleveland likely isn't as good as their record suggests either, but 6 of the Twins' 8 wins have come against KC, Detroit, and Chicago. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Is Robert injured? Moncada? He was actually off to a good start.

He dove for a ball against the Guardians, landed on his shoulder, and took a ton of time to get up. I believe he finished the inning but came out of the game shortly thereafter.

A's are 9-14

A's kicked Yanks in Der arse. 2-0. Excellent game broadcast on Free TV MLB today.

Dallas Braden did the color for the A's. He is excellent (try their podcast, "Baseball is Dead").

Aaron Boone got tossed; ump heard what he thought was Boone. It was a fan! Boone went crazy; Braden dropped a bunch of one liners at that point. Hilarious.

Seven innings for Paddack. I don’t think we’ll see many outings where he gives the Twins seven IP.

Unless he faces the White Sox a couple more times.

Winner! 👍

But it's the Sox, so...  here's some chicken from the local 7-11 anyway.

They will allow us to get to 60-70 wins is all.

Feeling pessimistic, eh? In spite of this start I'd be surprised in they finish with less than 82 wins. If Kepler is going to produce a .800 plus OPS that number goes up. Get Duran, Correa, Lee and Lewis healthy. In the meantime Martin, Larnach and Miranda get a chance to make tough decisions for the front office. The only way this season tanks as you describe is if their rotation suffers long term injuries to Pablo, Ryan and or Ober.

Feeling optimistic are we? Yes, you could say I am pessimistic. Didn't like the team out of spring training, and didn't like their off season moves.  They have proved me right so far.  You are correct about the pitching, one injury will definitely derail any positivity in this squad. I think the line up is going to have consistent injury issues, when have they not? Depth is not there and poor decisions by management linger and linger.  We cannot compete with the average teams much less above average teams. We will see I guess.

I'm not so sure how optimistic I am in the moment. Luckily for me I was in Florida last week and could only see one game, a victory, lol. For me the poor decisions fall on ownership, but was anybody excited about Santana, Margot or DeSclafani? It would have made more sense to put what meagre budget they were given solely to pitching, the rotation first then bullpen and supplement the lineup with young in-house talent. Nonetheless this core played well against the best of the American League last year and without major setbacks they could do it again.
