I just read The Old Scribe's article at the Strib on young Matty C and it got me fired up!

Matt is now 26 years old and has missed out on years of pro development due to covid and slow playing his balky elbow. He had TJ surgery in August of 2022 which is now a full year and a half in the past. He says he is 100% and is rip roaring to get after it. Canterino's stuff just jumps and he's got the personality to match. He rehabbed with fellow Texan Paddack and the two just fed off each other. I've got a feeling these two guys are going to offer enough thrills in Minneapolis this summer to make us forget a milquetoasty off-season and uninspiring payroll. Canterino can be a weapon for this team right out of camp. It was said the medical types cleared him for 125 innings, well there you have it. Let's hit the ground running and have Canterino break camp with the big club!

Good luck Matt Canterino! It would be great if he and Paddack could replace Gray and Maeda (asking for a lot I know). I suppose just about every team has a wild card like him who could drastically improve their pitching staff.

An aside: Reusse may be old and curmudgeonly, but he still is a great writer, especially about baseball. I used to listen to his show on the radio and enjoyed that too.

Well @stringer bellyou can listen to the smooth vocal stylings of Reusse every Monday morning on Michael Rand's podcast. Rand just winds Patrick up and let's him go, lol.
