Lopez is the clear-cut #1. I think Paddack, Ryan and Ober all have the ceiling of a #3 starter. I don't see a legit #2. I also don't see the Twins paying that kind of pitcher in free agency so the trade market seems more likely but I have no idea what the market will be set at and the Twins may have to up the ante beyond position players.

That's a "win now" package with very low upside for the future which makes it hard to thread that needle. Not many teams in win now mode looking to trade frontline starting pitching. Miami, Seattle, and Milwaukee are probably your 3 most likely destinations for a package like that. Really hard to judge what Polanco's value is right now. But he'd be the key, I think.

Don't like the idea but wouldn't be shocked if the Twins re-signed Mahle similar to the way they did with Paddack and Pineda. Maybe a 2 year deal (2024 and 2025) with a club option for 2026. Let Varland start in the rotation and see if Mahle can come back in July or August.
