glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 As I understand it, you can get to Compton from Beverly Hills pretty easy, but getting back through the checkpoints and roadblocks is such a hassle that it isn't worth the trip. Not a big deal and best BBQ in town is Bludsoe's.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I love watching MLB firsts... Tip of hat to Chris Herrmann.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Seriously... I mean I'm seriously... There were people on Twins Daily who were concerned about Parmelee from a defensive stand point. I had no idea but they had me concerned about it figuring they have seen him in the minors or something. Not only has Parmeleee been good defensively... He has been about 6 levels above good. Yes you can improve but not this much. The guy has serious defensive game and I assume he has had it all along. Better defense than Cuddyer?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Not a big deal and best BBQ in town is Bludsoe's. I love BBQ... Kansas City Style is my preferred. But I won't knock Memphis, Texas, Carolina or anywhere.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I love BBQ... Kansas City Style is my preferred. But I won't knock Memphis, Texas, Carolina or anywhere. I am from Memphis and therefore biased. But the best brisket ever can be found in Compton.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Better defense than Cuddyer? Yes and it ain't close in my mind. Cuddyer's gift was his arm. He has a hose but Parm is showing more range and making more difficult plays.

glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Memphis and Beverly Hills... How did the Twins connection develop? 1965 World Series then WHO radio broadcasting the Twins from Iowa. Memphis had no team. Most people rooted for the Cardinals, but I have been a Twins fan since 1965.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 It was just one inning... Plenty of time for rusty mistakes. Couple innings later... good call.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Couple innings later... good call. Thank you... Thank you... I just didn't want Glunn to worry unnecessarily. He has enough on his mind with all those meetings with Thurston and Lovey Howell types.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Awesome... 65 Memphis... You musta hung around with Elvis... Al Green... BB King and Bobby Blue Bland. I was 11 years old then, and ran in different circles. But later, Jerry Lee Lewis moved to our block. He was a character.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Bonderman.... ahhh memories My avatar (today) >> Your avatar

glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 This is a very fun game to watch, but I feel a little sad for Bonderman.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Bonderman is looking at the end of his career.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Prolly that $*()#) Milburn Drysdale that's a pain to work with. Yes, but I enjoy his theme music.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Milburn is probably dead and gone by now... That Entitled son is probably still around though.
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Give credit to Bonderman for what he has been able to do after some very major surgeries. He deserves a hug from Olivia.

glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 This may seem cruel and greedy, but I am hoping for at least 13 more runs.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Is the Hillbilly Mansion still around? And Glunn... I do feel I have to point this out: Memphis is not far from Bugtussle.
B Richard Provisional Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Hats off to Hicks for his first couple ABs, but that was ugly
glunn Community Moderator Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Approves: It is cruel to post these without their names -- how can we google her for more?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Is the Hillbilly Mansion still around? Jethroe tried for many years to open a Hillbilly-themed casino near me, in Carson City. Bought the property, or at least had the options, had trouble getting financing or perhaps local zoning.
