Can we win one for Sonny for a change? Like put up 10 runs for him early, somehow? Might be tough with this lineup, but the guy deserves it.

With this lineup? Who's missing that's on the active roster? It looks like they're giving Kepler a break today

I actually like that they went with what basically amounts to an all out youth movement for the day.  Now's the perfect time to have some fun like that.

Sonny may not even pitch 5 innings anyway.

Polanco too. But hes been slumping a bit and could use a day game breather to spare the legs

Farmer hitting .254 this year (his lifetime BA) and his OPS, .727, is 18 pts higher than career avg. Fielding at SS is .988, 3 pts higher than lifetime at short.

Should Correa not play post season, Farmer's solid at short, though with less range and rifle arm than Correa.

Correa isn't expected to travel with the team to Colorado.  That sucks, but as long as he's ready for the playoffs, I'm fine with that.

The team has said that he hasn't had a setback.

They are apparently taking the altitude effects seriously.

It's funny we were there for a week this summer and I didn't notice anything. Then again my only workouts were 12oz curls

I heard this on radio and HAD to look it up. Thought it was nuts.

"Reasons for this <elevation problems> are increasing stress hormones and lower overall oxygen delivery to the tissues.

Well, they do recommend, endlessly, that you hydrate!

It certainly takes longer to recover from strenuous activity.  I'm not a doctor, but I would imagine that plays into it quite bit.  Backpacking at altitude is a lot different than at lower elevations for many reasons.  The cumulative effect is definitely there.

I believe Kirilloff is destined for mediocrity until/unless he learns to turn on the ball. Nobody ever made a living as a power hitter going oppo.

It's fine to be able to hit to all fields, but when that's your primary spray chart, you're likely not a very dangerous hitter.

Yeah, I used to get soooooo pooped I would have to stop and have a smoke break (winks).

Maybe you should switch to 12oz curls!

Or at least add them to your training regimen.

Man bad pitchers sure have a tendency to drop 1 of their 3 good starts of the year against the Twins. Medina is dotting the zone, its more him being good than us being bad.

Yeah, I quit those as well 20 years ago. Easier to get up hills now. I no longer need to put in the clutch and downshift.

Cleve is inactive today.

Tigers are winning 8-0 top of 9th. Will knock Cleve out of 2nd place.

While not of consequence, it will matter to the relatively young Detroit players.
